Yangyang continued to cling to Kun and the older man wrapped his arms around him and picked him up as he stood to his feet. With one arm under his knees and the other wrapped around his back, Kun carried Yanyang out of the alleyway and back to his car. He set Yangyang gently down on his feet next to the passenger door, then fished his keys out of his pocket.
The sports car made a happy chirp as Kun unlocked it and he chivalrously opened the door for him.
“Hop in, Yang.” Kun said with a gentle smile that continued to make Yangyang’s heart flutter.
Yangyang eased himself into the red leather seat, wincing a little when pain shot up his back. This didn’t go unnoticed by Kun.
“Are you sure you alright enough to go home?” He asked, resting his hands against the car to lean in and look down at Yangyang. “Should I take you to the hospital?”
“No,” Yangyang shook his head adamantly, “It’s not that bad, I promise.” He responded, giving Kun his best ‘I’m completely fine’ smile.
Kun stared at him for a moment, as if weighing his options, which made Yangyang worry that he might actually have to take a trip to the hospital. All he wanted was to be in his own home, wrapped up in Kun’s arms in bed.
“Okay,” Kun said after a while, “Let’s get you home then.”
Once Kun was in the driver’s seat and they were pulling out into traffic on the main road, Yangyang spoke.
“If my parents aren’t home will you stay a while, with me?” He asked, his voice coming out as barely a whisper.
Kun glanced at him briefly before returning his attention back to the road. “Of course, Yang, I’ll stay and keep you company. I want to make sure you’re alright.” He replied, reaching over to rest a hand on Yangyang’s thigh.
Yangyang smiled as he looked down at Kun’s hand. He felt so grateful to have Kun care about him and want to take care of him. He placed his own hand over top of Kun’s, and Kun shifted his around to entwine their fingers together.
Within fifteen minutes he and Kun were stepping out of the elevator and walking to Yangyang’s home. Yangyang unlocked the door to his family’s apartment and cautiously stepped inside.
“I’m home!” He called out, hoping that no one would respond.
Silence called back and Yangyang sighed in relief. His parents weren’t home, meaning he could invite Kun inside; he wouldn’t have to leave Yangyang’s side just yet.
He and Kun slipped off their shoes at the entrance and he reached down to grab Kun’s hand.
“My room’s just down here.” Yangyang said, gently tugging Kun down a short hallway to the last door on the right.
He led Kun into his small room and Kun quietly shut the door behind them. The older man wrapped his arms around him, hugging him from behind, and rested his head against his.
“Do you want to lie down?” Kun suggested, and Yangyang nodded.
Kun took his hand and walked over to Yangyang’s small, single bed. He pulled the sheets back and hopped under them, his back up against the wall. His brown eyes were calm and welcoming as he silently invited Yangyang into his open arms.
Yangyang gladly accepted, slipping under the sheets to lay next to him. He nuzzled his face into the crook of Kun’s neck and tangled his legs with Kun’s as the older man tucked the covers around them, enveloping Yangyang in the warmth of his arms.
They stayed like that for a while, Yangyang listening to and feeling Kun’s steady breathing, calming him, before Kun spoke.
“Yang, will you stop offering your services?” Kun asked.
“Yes,” Yangyang replied softly. “I don’t want to do it anymore… I hate the way it felt with Sicheng.”
“That’s good; I don’t want you to hurt, or others to hurt you.” Kun responded, sweeping his hands over Yangyang’s back.
“But,” Yangyang shifted himself slightly to look into Kun’s eyes, “Will I still get to be with you?” He asked.
Kun smiled and placed a kiss on his forehead. “Of course Yang, I’m not going to let you go. My only concern is Sicheng; He seems to be forceful and he probably won’t take your decision to stop very well.”
Yangyang nodded in agreement.
“If you close your WeChat account, then he’ll have no way to contact you.” Kun suggested.
“But what if he finds me, like he did today?” Yangyang asked uncertainly.
Kun stroked his hair, “Then you call me just like you did today, okay?”
“Okay.” Yangyang responded and Kun smiled.
Yangyang smiled back at him and Kun rested his forehead against his.
“You’re so beautiful Yang.” He whispered. He leaned in and kissed Yangyang.
Wrapped up in his warm embrace, Yangyang felt like he belonged. He felt cherished and loved, and he held onto Kun, never wanting to let him go.
