This is a time skip to two and a half months into the relationship. Cuz I'm lazy asf .-.

Neil's POV

Everything has been going great so far. I haven't really screwed up, unusually. And Max was always being so considerate of my nervousness. It's like I've known him even longer than two months.

I was out on campus with Nikki, just talking of course. "Honestly I just can't wait to just sleep right now, it's Friday!", she yawned.

I laughed. "Well, I mean you could speed walk to the house and I could hang at the park by myself." Nikki shook her head. "Nope! I've depleted took much energy all day, I deserve a relaxing nap in the eyes of nature!"

I was suddenly tapped on the shoulder. Turning around I see this huge guy just towering over me. Could he see rooftops from there? His ginger hair covered one of the menacing green eyes that glowered down at me. "So word has it that you're Max's boyfriend", he grumbled, his voice so deep and scary.

I shook. "Uhm." Nikki looked horrified at him. But at the same time, she was almost growling. The guy took a look at her. "Oh, hi Nikki, still eating dirt I assume."

"You'll be the one eating mounds of it once I pin your ass to the grass", she suddenly snapped back. Okay what the hell was going on?

He gripped my shoulder harder. "So, what does Max see in you? Is he even doing this to get back at me? I bet David doesn't have approval of this now does he? How could someone get over me that quickly, clearly he wants to make me jealous. Who'd date such a puny man like you? He's obviously using you for something-"

I suddenly heard Max calling my name up ahead. I didn't flinch, but the guy looked up.

I turned around. Max had stopped in his tracks, close enough to see what was happening.

His glare was one I never saw before and it was scary as hell. "What the fuck you want now?", he sneered. "I was just chatting with your boyfriend", the guy respond when there was a pause.

"Leave him alone", Max snarled, tugging my arm. I almost lost balance and stumbled forward. "Oh come on, baby boy. You've ignored my calls and my texts-"

Max rushed over and shoved him. "I've told you so many times. Leave. Me. The fuck. Alone. You daft son of a hooker!" He raised his voice at the last part.

"Don't be like that."

I put a hand on Max's shoulder, trying to get him to calm down.

"Stay the fuck away from me, Nurf."

Now I remember! This guy was his ex. Damn, he must've done something really fucked up for Max to cut contact like that. Somebody called him from afar.

"Yo, Nurf! Professor wants you back for a..sec..."

Nina halted beside Nurf, her voice trailing away before she chuckled nervously. "Oh boy, Max you won't believe who just joined our band after Chucky quit!"

. . .

The awkward silence hung like a chandelier today. We all just sat, it was only quiet because Nikki was asleep.

"Nina, he was not allowed in the band for a reason", Max groaned. Nina scratched the back of her head. "I know, but...we haven't had any luck with finding a suitable drummer for the past month, but he's only auditioning for it and I know you want to spend the weekend with Neil, so you're totally fine!"

"Did you finally pick a place for that shit?", Max asked, rolling his eyes. "Because the dude who owned the last place last week said we can't come there anymore."
