Insidious Nightmare

Chapter 7

Cassie got herself up and paced quickly towards her classroom .Before she could enter her classroom,a hand stopped her.

"Halt."

Cassie looked at the source of the voice that seemed like a lion's roar.

Mrs Giovanna!

"What do you think you're doing coming this late at school?" asked the grumpy woman .Mrs Giovanna is their Physical Education teacher .She is also responsible for disciplining the students.

She is so fulfilling her responsibility .Gosh!
Cassie so wanted to roll her eyes.

"Going to my classroom I suppose?" Cassie answered in a questioning tone with a fake smile on her lips. She is already tired from a long walk and then the fall on the hard floor .Now handling Mrs Giovanna is going to be a real difficult work for her.

"No,you can't go to your classroom now .You will go to the field ,run on the track there three times .That's your punishment .Or else I will call your parents ,tell them how irresponsible you are and deduct your points in discipline." Mrs Giovanna declared.

"Please ma'am, forgive me this time .I will be punctual from tomorrow onward. I can't miss the first period .There'll be an important lesson today .Please!" Cassie practically begged with her puppy dog eyes .But this couldn't move her strict teacher.
" Are you going to accept your punishment or not?" She totally ignored Cassie's pleading.

" But ma'am... " Cassie tried to persuade Mrs Giovanna to let her off the hook one more time.
" Tell me your full name" The teacher demanded.

"What?" Cassie asked again.

" Are you deaf?I wanted to know your FULL NAME !" Mrs Giovanna shouted.
Cassie slumped her shoulder in disappointment. "Cassandra Harper." she replied. There goes my points.
Opening a tiny notebook, Mrs Giovanna wrote down her name .Then glared at her one more time and went away.

The classroom door has already been closed .She knocked on the door while thinking what her class teacher Mrs Laurence would say ,now that she is 30 minutes late .Mrs Laurence is really good to her but she dislikes tardiness .
With a click sound,the door opened slightly .Cassie entered, her head hanging low,not looking up .She expected to hear her class teacher's scolding ; instead she met with silence .So she looked up now being curious .But there was no Mrs Laurence .In place of the slim blonde woman whom she was accustomed to see for half a year,stood he . Again,the same person from yesterday night and minutes earlier was staring at her .Not a single expression was on his face,just staring .What left her surprised much more was he looked exactly like the stranger from last night .Unlike the boy in the hallway, he looked a few years older now clad in a black suit.

Is he kinda shape -shifter?Or I am hallucinating? She wondered.

"Umm...why don't you take your seat instead of standing here staring at me ,Cassie?" He spoke with a tight smile after a long moment of silence .

"Huh?" Cassie was confused. He remembers her name!Then why in the hallway...
"Take your seat. Don't be that surprised to see me .I'll be your new class teacher and teaching you Physics from now on as your former teacher Mrs Laurence is on maternity leave." He said.

" Oh,okay. Sorry for wasting your time,Sir." With that saying, Cassie hastily took her seat on the last bench.

" How do you and Mr David know each other?" asked Olivia who sat beside her in a hushed voice looking at her somewhat accusingly.

So his name is David... Cassie thought.

"We met last night." she replied in a whisper .Then she turned her attention to her new class teacher's lecture on Thermodynamics .
