7 years later...
As the teenage bag of hormones threw her backpack down on her bed, she sat on a letter.
She jumped up and reached for the creased paper and opened it.
Y/ns eyes widened as she realized what she was reading.
A letter from her mom.
She found out where her mom went and how she'd doing.
She found out that her mom had moved back home where y/n grew up.
Y/n wanted to go back.
She had been waiting for this moment for almost a decade.
She sprang up and snatched her suitcase out of her closet.
She threw open the lid and shoveled clothes into it.
She grabbed another bag and shoved her necessaries into it.
She rushed out of the room to her dad.
"Dad! Mom wants me to move back home with her! She's back at our old house!! Can I please go?"
Her dad looked at her with a shocked face.
"Are you serious?" He asked in an alarmingly calm voice.
"Y-yeah."
"No way at I sending you back to that crazy woman! She left you! Not me! She just cares about the stupid money! I care about my damn family!"
My eyes widened as I remembered something.
She just cares about the stupid money!
My heart skipped a beat when I remembered a crying voice.

"She just cares about the money. My daddy gets upset with her and she gets upset with him. I hate it when they argue. It makes me feel sad."
A little boy cried into his hands.
We both sat under a tent with lights shaped like stars on it.
"It's okay Louis! You have me! And I have no money! So you don't have to worry about it here!"
The boy looked up with red, glossy eyes and nodded. He wiped his tears with the back of his hand and sniffled.
"I'm glad I have you y/n. Please don't ever leave me."

She stood there shocked as she remembered him.
She remembered her old best friend.
She remembered the security she felt with him.
The moments when he hugged her
The moments when she'd fall and he'd be there for her.
The stupid moments she thought.

"Dad I'm going. And you're gonna take me." She demanded.
"Fine, but don't cry to me when she ignores you."
"I'm not going back for her anymore."

She sat silently in the car as her fuming dad drove back to her hometown.
As she entered the city, vague memories grew.
She started to remember the colors and the smells.
The cozy feel of the love on the streets.
The small smiles that the folks would give when you passed by.
She felt at home.
She felt comfortable.
Her dad gave a sigh when he pulled into the driveway.
Y/be heart raced as she remembered the cream colored house.
She got out and grabbed her bags.
She knocked on the door and was greeted by her mother.
Her dad pulled out of the driveway and drove away before he even got a wave.
Y/n sighed and furrowed her brows at the loss of connection between her parents.
She was shown a room and made herself at home.
Then she remembered what she came for.
She shot up from her bed and tried to remember the address but couldn't for her life.
She decided to text one of her friends for his number or address.
She got the phone number but her friend also couldn't remember the address.
Y/n sighed as she made drafts of what to say.
"Should I just say hello? Or should I make a novel? Or is that too much? Does he even still like me? He could hate me! Oh god what if he hates me?? Or doesn't even remember me!"
Y/n threw down her phone in a panic and decided to come back to it later.
After dinner, she mustered up enough courage to send him a text.

"Hey Louis, it's me -Y/n- you're old best friend. I found your number and wanted to see what's up with you. I'm back. Call me if you want to talk."
She hit send shakily and couldn't get the thought off her mind.
Soon her phone dinged and she snatched it up faster then she thought was even possible.
Her heart raced as she opened the reply.
"Why are you texting me now? It's been seven years. It's a little late." She read aloud.
Her heart broke in two. She was so excited to talk to him again.
She didn't even think that he would actually hate her.
"I just thought that you still might want to talk. I told you I'd come back."
She sent it after proofing it and waited.
The familiar ding happened again and she read it.
"Well it's too late. Sorry that you didn't care enough."
Her heart shattered again.
"What's your address? I want to see you."
Louis didn't reply.
"Louis, tell me."
Nothing.
"Louis! Tell me! Now!"
The phone buzzed and she saw it.
"If you can name one thing we did together, I'll give you my address."
She thought after she read aloud and then remembered.
"You come to me crying. You told me you hated your family."
"Be more specific."
I decided to hit his heartstrings.
"You told me I was the best thing that ever happened to you. The day I left."
Louis's heart pounded.
She remembered that?
How?
She hadn't even talked to him in years.
How could she possibly remember?
But she got his address anyway.
