Chapter 23

Dawson couldn't be more proud in his life. At dahil ito sa babaeng nakaupo sa passenger’s seat. Iniwan naman nilang masaya si Hero sa amount na ibinayad ni Dawson, sa California na ito maninirahan kasama ng anak nito, at ang pinagbentahan daw ng bahay ay gagastusin niya sa casino sa Las Vegas.
     Now they're on their way home. Alexandria was silent for awhile, she's looking outside the window.
     "I'm glad you turned down Hero's son" Dawson told her smiling. Alexandria turned her head to look at him.
     “Why?" she asked.
     "Cause I wouldn't be here with you" he softly told her. "I have something to confess".
     Alexandria teased him"good cause I'm a lawyer. Don't ever talk or confess to anyone without the presence of your lawyer. First rule".
     “Nung una nagselos ako ng husto kay Hero” ang pag-amin ni Dawson.
     "Oh c'mon" Alexandria shook her head in disbelief. "he's old enough to be my father".
     “Oo alam ko, pero kasi, akala ko kaya ka sumama sa akin kasi inetrisado ka sa negosyo ko na sisimulan, iyun pala kasi kakilala mo si Hero” ang malungkot na sabi ni Dawson.
     "I am INTERESTED " she argued " I would have come with you with or without Hero in the picture. I would have done anything, ANYTHING to pursuade the owner to give you the sale. Your success matters to me". Alexandria sighed "Maybe knowing that it was Hero was just a bonus".
     “Totoo?” ang tanong ni Dawson and pouted his lips.
     Natawa si Alexandria kay Dawson na mukhang batang maliit,“ Oo” ang mariing sagot ni Alexandria.
     Dawson grinned sheepishly, “and I was jealous of the attention you're giving him, and he to you. I should be the one doing the pulling of chair, serving you of food"-
     Alexandria laughed without any humor, "yeah right for your information you were the one busy with BERNADETH !" she angrily told him.
     "So you're jealous of her?" he asked her. Alexandria didn't answer. "You shouldn't be. You're the only one I desire".

      Dawson and Keith load the truck with some of the furnitures. Iniwan na lang nila ang ibang gamit na sa tingin nila ay kakailanganin nila habang nirerenovate ang bahay.
     Nakaalis na rin si Hero, at nagpaalam ito sa kanila. Kinausap pa siya nito, na huwag pabayaan si Alexandria at huwag na huwag itong sasaktan. Nangako naman si Dawson na aalagaan si Alexandria at hindi pababayaan. Kahit pa alam niyang anim na buwan lang sila magsasama. Nakadama ng lungkot si Dawson, parang di na niya makita ang sarili na hindi kasama si Alexandria.
     Just the thought of Alexandria makes his heart beat fasts. And after hearing Hero's story yesterday, about Alexandria's heroic helped. He regarded Alexandria with high respect. He checked his watch, it was almost four in the afternoon. Alexandria would be out of her office soon. Dawson saw Keith inside the house, still making some assessments.He got his phone and called Alexandria. "Hello babe" he greeted her.

     Alexandria was breathless nang marinig ang boses ni Dawson, hindi niya maiwasang ngumiti.
     “Hi” she answered huskily, “kamusta kayong dalawa diyan?” she asked.
     “Matatapos na kami ni Keith, dadalhin na lang namin ang ibang gamit sa shelter, marami pang pwedeng mapakinabangan nila doon, o pwede naman nilang ibenta ang iba” sagot ni Dawson.
     “Thank you Dawson” ang masayang sagot ni Alexandria, “anong oras ka makakabalik?”
    
     “I don’t know, siguro madilim na, bakit?”
       "I'll cook dinner. I'll just have to see mom in the hospital. I'll wait for you". She told Dawson.
     Dawson couldn't helped to smile, his Lexie is acting like his wife already, and his liking it very much. "Just make sure it's edible" he teased her.
     Alexandria laughed " you can bring Keith with you" she told him.
     “Okey sasabihin ko sa kanya” ang sagot ni Dawson. Then they bid goodbye to each other. Dawson was still smiling nang abutan siya ni Keith.
     "Is getting married can really make a big man like you smiled to himself?" Keith chided his friend.
     "If you're marrying the RIGHT one" Dawson winked at him. Keith laughed.
     “Maybe I'll think about marriage soon" Keith said. Matalik na magkaibigan ang dalawa since college, nagkahiwalay lang sila nang nangibang bansa si Keith at bumalik na lang sa Pilipinas nang makaipon na siya at nagtayo ng sariling business.
     “Dapat lang tumatanda ka na” ang natatawang sagot ni Dawson. "If you still don't have anyone in mind I will introduce you to someone".
     “Oh I know who it is" Keith snorted "It's the real estate agent, you kept on telling me about how pretty she is, how sexy, and good in her job".
     “Well iyun ang totoo” ang sagot ni Dawson at nangingiti na lang sa reaksyon ng kaibigan.
     "Is your Alexandria didn't get threatened with her. If she heard you today, I think she should be", Keith jested.
     “Hindi ko siya binibigyan ng dahilan” ang mariing sagot ni Dawson.
     "If I met Alexandria I will change her mind. I'll tell everything you said about your Kinuha ", Keith jibed.
     Natawa si Dawson “magiging PARTNER mo rin siya, maybe in another sense of the word" Dawson answered.
     Keith snorterd, “hmph, I doubt that”
     “Bakit committed ka ba ngayon? Mayron ka bang hindi sinasabi sa BUSINESS PARTNER mo?” ang tanong ni Dawson.
     “HINDI pa ako committed, pero, I met someone, sa village once lang, She was seated on a pavement having cramps". Keith looked at Dawson his eyes smiling, “so a gentleman like me couldn't just left her there, she has a face of an angel, I helped her by massaging her soft, smooth, milky white legs". Keith winked at Dawson. Who is laughing out loud now.
     "Hell! if she knew any better you're already masturbating in front of her!" Dawson jested Keith.
     "Ouch! I'm not incorrigible!" Keith answered mockingly and put his right hand into his heart as if he was hurt.
     "So who's the lucky girl?" Dawson asked.
     "That's the unlucky part. I didn't get her name". "She jogged away". Keith grinned.
     "Maybe she realized your upto something that will corrupt her dignity and ran away!" Dawson said.
     "Oh I will find her. Its just a small village" Keith told him.

     Nakahanda na ang lamesa, naghihintay na lang si Alexandria sa may salas. Tumayo siya nang makita niya ang liwanag ng headlights mula sa labas ng bahay. Binuksan niya agad ang pinto, at nakita niyang nakalabas na si Dawson ng sasakyan nito at papalapit na sa kanya. At parang normal na sa kanila ang humalik si Dawson sa kanyang pisngi.
     Dawson smiled warmly, and she felt that tingling sensation again. She looked behind him, at napansin iyun ni Dawson.
     “Hindi nakasama si Keith, siya na raw ang magdadala ng mga gamit sa shelter, ayaw niyang mahuli ako at maghintay ka, but he promised next time na pupunta siya rito for dinner. Sorry hindi ko nasabi sa iyo, naubos ang battery ng phone ko, and I forgot my charger” paliwanag ni Dawson.
     "You better change first and freshen up. I'll heat the food" Alexandria told him.
     "Want me to help you?" he offered.
     "I'll just need to reheat it. Go on shoo!" Alexandria said while motioning her hands for him to go. Dawson smiled at her, and went to his room.

     “At bukas magkikita-kita kaming tatlo para mapag-usapan ang mga gagawin sa renovation” ang sabi ni Dawson habang kumakain ng ice cream. "Bernadeth was in charge in producing the blueprint of the house, while me and Keith will assess the extent and how much will the renovation would costs".
     “Sounds like a plan” Alexandria answered and she absentmindedly licked the ice cream on the corner of her mouth.
      Dawson had a hard-on, he cleared his throat, “and I also had another plan in mind" he continued. His voice has turned husky.
     “Ano yun?”
    "Match making" Dawson answered her with a boyish grin.
     "Keith and Bernadeth" she stated.
     "Uh-huh" he winked at her. Alexandria rolled her eyes on him.
      "That's dangerous" she warned him.
     "They'll fall head over feet with each other!" he argued.
