Ian’s POV:
Wiping my palms on my Chachi Momma sweat pants that Chachi had given me, I tried to stop ther nervous sweating. I was standing in the middle of a crowd full of dancers, getting ready for a battle. We were at Millenium and I was about to battle 747, Pacman, Millie, Jaja, and Moon of IaMmE. Apparently, it was one of the requirements for dating Chachi. I had to beat the boys and Jaja in dance battles.
Needless to say, I was nervous as hell. Sure, I was a pretty good dancer, but I didn’t know if I could beat them. They all had a ton of experience and I knew that they were extremely good dancers. I admired all of them and thought everything they did was insane, so having to challenge them was really hard.
My hands were shaking and I felt like I was about to puke. A bunch of dancers were surrounding us, waiting for this epic battle to ensue. Many of them were supporting me, but I knew that they just wanted to see a some great dancing. I fixed my hat and moved around a little bit, trying to shake off my anxiety.
Brian walked into the center of the circle, between my side and IaMmE’s side. “Okay, Round One of the Battle for Chachi. Ian vs. Millie,” he announced. I bounced around a bit, stretching and trying to get ready. “And…GO!” he signaled and backed back into the crowd.
The music started, blaring to every inch of the room. I began moving my body to the beat, but did nothing too extraordinary since Emilio was going first. The crowd began moving and shouting as Millie began dancing. I nodded my head, watching all his movements. He did a few flips and tricks, dancing in between them. Once he was finish, he bowed and everyone erupted into a cheer.
I took a deep breath and got ready, hoping I wouldn’t embarrass myself. I had built my name and career on my dancing, I hope that it doesn’t fail me now. Clearing my mind, I thought of nothing but the music, dancing, and Chachi. I was trying to win this for her. I wanted to be with her, but first I had to overcome this obstacle.
I closed my eyes and let my mind process the song, remembering the lyrics. In my head, I mapped out the basic steps I was going to do and then let go. I let my body take over and move to the beat, forgetting everyone else around me. All that ran through my mind was the music and the girl I was dancing for.
Finally, the music came to an end and I stopped, earning a roar of applause from everyone. I looked around a bit confused. I could barely remember what kind of things I did, seeing as I wasn’t really letting my mind dictate. I let my body take control and obviously, it worked.
“As judged by the audience, Round One goes to Ian,” Brian’s voice boomed. I smiled, happy that I had won. One down, three to go. Then it’s on to Jaja and finally I’ll be done. “Round Two, Ian vs. Moon,” Brian said, once again backing out of the way.
A different song begin to play and I starting contorting my body to the beat, trying to get a feel for it. I looked up, waiting for Moon to start dancing. He started, going absolutely crazy. His tutting was out of control, I was awestruck. I was literally standing there with wide eyes, trying to keep my jaw from dropping to the ground. Quickly, I tried to piece together something in my head to try and compete with him, but nothing could.
Soon, he came to a stop and posed, pointing to me. It was my signal to start and I had no clue what to do. Shaking the feeling, I began moving slightly, getting into the sing. I was fueled by the chants of the crowd. I just let my body move, trying to do my best. The song ended and I stopped, breathing heavily. Well, I lost that round.
Brian came in again, “Judging by the audience’s reaction, Round Two went to….Mo-” he was cut off my boos and chants of “Ian! Ian! Ian!” I smiled, happy that people were supporting me. “I guess Round Two goes to Ian, again,” he corrected himself. Maybe everyone else thought Chachi and I would be a cute couple and wanted me to win to make it possible.
“Next round. Round Three: Ian vs. 747,” he said, signalling for the next song. I stretched my neck, a bit nervous. Sure, 7 was a cool dude and was like a big teddy bear, but he was still intimidating. Not only with his size, but also with his awesome dance skills. I swayed to the music, trying to keep my mind off losing. Three more victories and I was free to date Chachi.
747 began dancing, his movements full of swag, but also precise and clean. It was impressive and I felt my leg bounce nervously. I knew what I was getting myself into when I challenged them, but I didn’t care at the time because I was too excited with the opportunity to date Chachi.
His movements were impressive, but I had danced to the song numerous times before and knew exactly what I wanted to do. Once he finished, I realized luck was on my side for this round. I had just start choreographing a piece for this part in the song and no one had seen it yet, so I decided to reveal it then and there.
I was beginning to gain confidence, however I made sure that I didn’t get to full of myself. My long and lean body moved in ways some people didn’t know were possible. I just let go and followed the routine I had made, but added a few new touches to it.
I finished to a blistering round of applause. Many of my friends were shouting and screaming, which made me laugh. I could always count on them to make me smile. Again Brian walked out. I knew he was enjoying this. He was my best friend and he wanted me to win, but he was also friends with IaMmE. Brian wanted me to date Chachi, he actually encouraged it.
“Round Three goes to Ian. Final male round. Ian vs. Pacman,” Brian announced. I watched knowing this was going to be a hard round. Pacman was talented and his skill was mind blowing. How I was going to win, I didn’t know, so I just hoped for the best.
I watched him contort his limbs and torso in ways that defied nature. It was insane and I couldn’t even begin to understand how it was humanly possible. He was a freak of nature and did things that I couldn’t even dream of.
Finally, he finished, nodding in my direction to signal it was my turn. Gulping, I let out a deep breath and began dancing nervously. I was rigid and tense. Everything was scaring me and I had a feeling I was going to lose, so I made myself let go. If I was going to lose I might as well go down with a fight. I wiped away the fear of not being able to compete with Pacman and did what I did best…dance.
I knew that I was doing better than I had a few seconds ago, at least, judging by everyone’s reactions. Once the song came to an end, my chest was heaving and my breathing was irregular. I had gone in on that freestyle and I hoped it was enough to help me win. I needed to win for Chachi.
I closed my eyes, waiting for Brian to make say who won. “And the winner was…by a slim margine….Ian!” he shouted. I fist pumped, knowing I was one battle away from being able to date the girl of my dreams.
“For the final battle of the day,” Brian began in a dramatic tone. “We have the lovely Jaja Vankova vs. the sexy Ian Eastwood!” I laughed slightly at Brian’s introductions, but quickly got serious. I knew this one was going to be tough. Jaja was sick and she had crazy control over her body.
Another song began playing and Jaja busted right into a freestyle. I was in awe. It had to be the best freestyle I had seen yet, and everyone’s was phenomenal. I could sense she was about to finish, so I looked around the room for inspiration on how I would win this battle.
That’s when I found her. Hidden int he mass of people, her strawberry blond locks were curled to perfection and her beautiful brown eyes met mine. Her adorable smile was enough to motivate me. I gave her a smile and a wink before turning back to Jaja, who had just finished her freestyle.
I waited for the next eight-count to start before beginning. I forgot everyone else in the room. I was dancing for one person and one person only. Chachi was the only thing on my mind. Her gorgeous face, her dancing, her laugh, her voice, everything about her. I had to win. I had to be with her.
Somehow, I had ended up doing the dance in the direction that was facing her. I conveyed every emotion I had for her and just dance my heart out. I was leaving everything out there for her.
During the little dance, I made my way over to Chachi and ended it by pecking her on the lips. The crowd went wild, both for the dance and kiss. I smiled at her, before turning back to Jaja and waiting for Brian.
He ran to me and lifted my arm up, “And the winner of the battle and Chachi’s heart is, Ian Eastwood!” I laughed and was given by hugs and congratulations by everyone. I found my way over to the members of IaMmE and have them all hugs and smiles. “You guys were awesome,” I said before I was interrupted by Chachi’s arms being thrown around me.
I grinned from ear to ear and wrapped my arms around her tightly. Hugging her back, I was about to lean down and kiss her, but I was stopped by 747’s voice. “Ah, ah, ah! There’s still one more thing you have to do to get with Chachi,” he said. I looked up at him confused, did I have to battle someone else?
He pointed to Chachi’s parents and I immediately got it. I walked over to them, my arm around Chachi’s shoulders. “Mr. and Mrs. Gonzales-” I started, but was cut off.
“Ian, if you’re willing to go through the trouble of battling them just to date Chachi, then you must be worthy. Only someone who really loves her would go through all that trouble,” her mother said with a smile. I beamed and thanked her. Her parents walked away and I turned to Chachi.
“So since I won, there’s only one thing left to do…actually two things,” I said with a smile. She looked at me with, arching one of her eyebrows, telling me to continue. “First, Chachi, will you be my girlfriend?” I asked with a cheeky smile.
She laughed and replied, “But of course I will! I’m not gonna tell you no after you just went through all that trouble!” I smiled and hugged her. “What was the second thing you had to do?” she asked curiously.
I leaned down and captured her lips in a passionate kiss. I held her hips and her arms slid around my neck. I could here the oohhh’s and awww’s of the crowd. I smiled into the kiss and felt her smile back. I pulled away and leaned my forehead on her’s, “It was no trouble, by the way. I would dance for you any time.”
A/N:
How did I not remember this before? Only Ian could do this :) Anyway, it’s not that good, but I really like the idea, so I decided to write about it. Honestly, my brain is dead and I’m really tired. Plus all this boy drama really takes a lot out of a girl. Hope you like my first one shot! BTW, I know there are probably spelling mistakes, I didn’t have time to read over it because the I know it’s kind of late and people wanna read it.
