With Every Heartbeat | Chapter Sixteen

ARIELLE'S POV:

It's been two weeks since I found out about Cameron's little game. All I've been doing is sitting in my room thinking about this whole situation. I think I need a break. Ellie is out with Nash, so maybe Selene would want to come shopping with me! I dial her number on my phone and wait. It rings a couple times and she picks up.

"Hello?" I ask, hoping for an answer.

"Listen. Get the job done today! I want him alive. I need the answers to it. If you kill him, I'll rip your head off." I hear Selene yell. What the hell is going on?

"Look, I can't do this job! He doesn't know me! He knows you, so maybe you should try." I hear an unfamiliar voice say to Selene. I hang up. She's obviously busy. But what was that going on? It doesn't matter. I can go shopping by myself. I grab all my essentials I'll need since I might be gone for a while. No one is currently home so I left a note. I walk out to where my car is parked and drive I the mall. I walk inside and decide to go to Starbucks first and get myself a Java chip frappichino. I sigh thinking about the time Cameron and I went to Santa Monica pier.

"Java chip frappicino!" the barista calls. I walk up to grab my drink. As I grab the drink, I feel a hand on top of mine. I look up to see, Amanda?

CAMERON'S POV:

It's been 2 weeks since I screwed up. Arielle has been ignoring me and she refuses to come over to our apartment. Ellie has been trying he best to get her to come over or convince her, but nothing has been working. But, it did give me the opportunity to get some work done. I've been up night after night researching and calling sources. All this work will pay off, and I have no doubt in that. I've been on my laptop for hours now. I need a break. I walk over to the kitchen to get some food. I hear a ringing sound. I grab my phone and answer.

"Hey, it's Jack," Gilinsky. He's been helping for countless hours also.

"I have some answers."

ARIELLE'S POV:

"Arielle, can we talk?" Amanda asks taking the other drink. I hesitantly nod and we walk over to an empty seating area. I sit down feeling that weird, bad feeling in my stomach.

"Okay look, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I was mean. I shouldn't have been so mean to you. The relationship between Cameron and I was for work reasons and I didn't want to screw it up. I was jealous because you're so talented and plus, you and Cameron are meant to be together. Plus I met someone else... I'm hoping to be friends and start over." Amanda says sympathetically. Was Amanda actually apologizing? Well, everyone always deserves second chances.

"I forgive you. Well, if we're staring over, hey! I'm Arielle! wanna go shopping?" I say sticking my hand out to shake hers. She shakes my hand.

"Hey! I'm Amanda, and yes, I would love to go shopping with you." I smile as we stand up and leave off to Forever 21.

I pick out a bunch of clothes to try on. Amanda and I have gotten to know each other a lot more. She actually is really nice. I go and try an outfit on. I step out with a white dress that ends mid thigh; has a black bow and coloured pearls on the collar (A/N: It's the picture that I added to this chapter). I see Amanda in a beautiful floral dress.

"You look amazing!" I compliment. Her eyes light up like a kid on Christmas.

"You look even better! This would be so cute to wear on a date with Cameron!" My smile fades away once she mentioned Cameron.

"O-Oh no. I'm sorry! What happened?" I explain the bet thing and how I felt so used and whatnot. She was left with a shocked face.

"Look Arielle, I really think you should forgive him. Everyone deserves second chances. You gave me a second chance for crying out loud!" Amanda said practically yelling causing customers and employees to stare. But she's right, everyone does deserve second chances. She stands up with her arms open. She brings me I'm for a hug. I smile thinking about how nice she is.

"Okay, we should go pay for these." I nod and change back.

Later throughout the day, we got to know each other a lot better. We ended up spending over $300 when we left. We said our goodbyes and parted ways. On the way home I began to think about the whole Cameron bet situation. I think I'm going to go say sorry and like get all of this together. I arrive back at the apartment building. I go up to my apartment and open up the door to see no one home. I guess everyone is out today. I drop off my stuff and head down the Cameron and Nash's apartment. I walk down the hallway to their door. You can do this, Arielle.

I lightly knock on the door. The door suddenly opens. No one locked the doors? I walk in to see an unfamiliar pair of shoes. Ellie must have gotten new shoes. I mean she's like obsessed with shoes.

"Cameron?" I call out, hoping for a reply. I walk towards Cameron's room. I enter without knocking and I see Cameron kissing Selene.
