Dean laid back on the hood of the Impala. It had been a long day of hunting alone. He wondered where Sam was. He and Sam had split up for different cases.

"Dean," he heard. He sat up and saw Cas standing next to him. "What are you doing out here?"

"Stargazing," he looked up at the sky, "how about you?"

"I thought I'd check in on you. Where's Sam?"

"I don't know."

"Don't know?"

"He's working a case." Dean motioned next to him and Cas lent against the car.

"So, he hasn't run off then?"

"Nope."

They sat there in silence for a few moments.

"I wouldn't have thought you to be the stargazing kind of guy," Cas said out of the blue.

"Yeah?"

"Do you know any constellations?"

"No," Dean said proudly. He knew that this irony would be lost on the angel.

"Oh."

Dean felt that Cas was waiting for something. "Did you want to talk or...?"

"Oh, I guess. Honestly, I just needed a break."

"Why don't you join me?" Dean motioned to the other side of the car hood.

The angel nodded and went to sit by him. They sat in silence for a few minutes while looking at the stars.

"See there," Cas outstretched his arm and pointed to a cluster of stars, "that's the Hercules constellation."

Dean smiled as he found what Cas was pointing to. "Yeah, I see it now.."

He could sense that Cas was looking at him. He turned his head to look back. Something sparked in Cas's expression that said that he was glad with the way Dean responded.

"Awesome," he reassured his friend. They both smiled and Cas pointed out another constellation.
