"Hyung! Where are you?!" Namjoon yelled over the phone at Jin, who was on the other side of the line.
Seokjin hadn't returned home yet and needless to mention, his birthday party was to start in a few hours. Guests might come clashing in anytime now and yet the star of the day was absent.
"I-I'm not coming tonight, Namjoon-ah", the younger could hear him sigh over the call. He could've assumed it as an exhausted one, probably from the work load but no company staff would dump all work over someone who is celebrating their birthday. And, his gut feeling added to the anxiety.
Jin wasn't interested.
Not able to choose his words, Namjoon fell silent and after a few breaths he spoke out, "why do you hate the party so much?"
Seokjin has never understood the latter's tone changes. Jokingly as ever, he replied with a giggle, "Hey, why would I hate my own party? It's noth-"
"Did you just laugh?! You dare laugh? If you don't hate parties why do always refuse them every year?!!", the boy shouted at the phone and soon cut the call, tearing up the next second. It was supposed to be a special day. A wonderful party with all his friends to wish him before the enlistment, was what Namjoon had in mind. And now, things were slowly fading away. But, just when he decided to let go of everything, a message notification popped on his phone screen.
"From Jin Hyung" it read.
"I'm at Jimin's. Can you come? Alone. I want to see you"
No crazy emojis from Jin meant he was serious.
Turning to Jimin, "He is at your house. And he wants to see me now", Joon managed to say without stutters. Soon, his body moved on its own, picking up the car key and the coat from the sofa.
"My house? But he doesn't have the keys!" Jimin said, looking at a rushing Namjoon.
Walking straight up to Jimin, Joon put out his hand, "Give me then"
Not hesitating, the other pulled out the jingling metal, while Taehyung handed Namjoon the gift box, wishing him, "All the best hyung", with a enthusiastic smile.
"Fighting!" Jungkook and Yuna shouted from behind. Turning to them, Joon returned an assuring nod and dashed out of the door to his car. Soon the roaring sound of the vehicle faded into silence. The same silence that now filled the house.
Taehyung broke the ice, letting out a chuckle followed by the others. All four sat down on the couch, smiling at each other. Jungkook sat between Taehyung and Jimin on the ling couch amd Yuna took jer seat on the single one.
Jungkook smiled extra, looking at Yuna. Taehyung leaned to his side and whispered, "She is that pretty, huh?"
Looking down shy, he shook his head, "Beautiful"
Rising an eyebrow at the younger's romantic side, Taehyung spoke on an impulse, "Yuna, Jungkook says he could drop you home"
Turning in a hurry, Jungkook questioned the other with wide eyes and pink cheeks, "Hyung!!", he mumbled.
"Sure. I would like that" Yuna replied with a smile.
"For your information, you are blushing like crazy" Taehyung whispered again, at a rigid Jungkook who was clearly taken aback by Yuna's acceptance.
Picking up her clutch and coat, Yuna exited the house waving goodbye to the remaining two. Jungkook stood holding the door open for her. Whisper yelling a big "thankyou" at Taehyung, the youngest closed the door.
Honestly speaking, Tae was kind of relaxed after knowing, the one Jungkook liked wasn't Jimin but Yuna, a girl. But also as an elder, he was genuinely happy to help them get together.
