Here to shamelessly promote my other book.
Stop Breathing For Me; it's an Ereri Vampire AU. I'm super proud of it, and just published a super smutty chapter which I know y'all love. It's the book I'm focusing more on and the reason why this book might have late updates. Please give it a read!

Enjoy.

This was the deepest sleep I had had since I could remember. My dreams were vivid and all over the place, so many odd things took place in my dream. Must have been the sleeping medication I took the night before, they tend to do that to me; give me wild dreams. The dreams were fleeting, however, as I tended to forget them when I woke up. Sleeping was hard for me most times, I usually depended on the medication. The shrill sound of my phone ringing woke me with an annoyed start.

I groaned, peeling my eyelids open with a wince to the sharp sunlight pouring into my bedroom from the curtains above my windows. My head that was on top of multiple fluffy pillows turned towards my cell phone that rested on my bedside table charging. It vibrated violently as the ringing continued. I considered ignoring it and fall back into my slumber once the loud noise stopped. But I had an awful habit of disliking ignoring phone calls. I reached for the loud nuisance, not bothering to look at the name or number calling.

"Hello?" My morning voice was groggy. I shut my eyes tightly, wiggling my body to get more comfortable while I waited for any type of response on the other side of the phone call.

"Did I wake you?" Levi. Why on earth was he awake at such a time in the morning? Didn't he understand some people need their beauty sleep? I resisted the urge to call him out on this, but I was too nice of a person to do so.

"No, no. Been awake for awhile." I lied through my teeth, and I'm sure he knew that considering the tone of my tired voice.

"Whatever. Making lunch right now. Viktor said he wants to see Hunter, so you two are welcome to come over."

Lunch? Isn't it time for breakfast at this point? Or so I thought, pulling the phone away from my ear to glance at the time on my screen. It read nearly twelve in the afternoon. Fuck, I overslept big time.

"Oh, yea sure. Sounds good. I'm sure Hunter would love that." My voice was slurred from me being half asleep. I pushed my face further into my pillow, glad Levi couldn't see me being so lazy in bed at nearly noon.

"Your ass really did just wake up. Lazy shit," Levi said before hanging up. There was the smallest hint of playfulness in his tone so I wasn't offended. Instead, I chuckled before stuffing my phone under my pillow. I had half the mind to fall back asleep, but I knew if I did I wouldn't wake back up till this evening. It was my day off though, don't I deserve to be lazy every once in awhile?

I decided against that idea, knowing my son would either throw a fit or starve to death. Probably both actually. Such a dramatic kid he is.

Yawning loudly, I stretched my arms above my head and rubbed my heavy eyelids trying to rid the sleep from my eyes. It was too damn bright in this room.

I somehow finally climbed out of my comfortable bed, making my way to Hunter's bedroom door. His black out curtains kept the room dark, but his nightlight shone brightly keeping the room dimly lit. Hunter was fast asleep, his mouth opened wide as usual with his arms widely spread out across his mattress. I could see his little nose wiggle as I looked at him through the fenced bed guards. Cheeks flushed with sleep per usual.

I resisted the want to watch him for a few minutes, leaning over the bed guards and softly his kissed the very tip of wiggling nose. Reminded me of a bunny. A small groan slipped from his lips as he closed them, moving his head to face the other direction. I chuckled, sitting down on the side of his bed, using my finger to softly draw circles on the top of his hand.
