Let's say both -Jimin and Jeongguk were facing inner turmoils which were very easily winning against them. Maybe both of them needed company to drink their worries away with, cry over their boyfriend, and a particular professor if we were to consider Jimin's case.
He hasn't been crushing or making passes on Yoongi for all those months blindly. The said vampire, too, had shown signs of softening towards him. The teasing, the mocking, and the cocky behaviour had all been just for fun at first. It all used to be something to rile the other up just so that Jimin himself would have an amusing day.
It's not just for fun anymore.
Jimin had decided maybe he should stop pestering the other after that biting incident.
And believe me when I say he tried.
He tried not to tease the man by whistling (he knows it's too old school but anything to rile up the ever so composed Mr Min) when he passed by him the next morning. He tried not to greet him by teasing him about how pretty he looked in that red and white sweater that had 'love' printed all over it. He had tried not to stare at his cute little ass in those black leather pants as he waddled his way out of the lecture hall.
He tried.
And now he knows that you can't crush on someone for 7 months and keep it limited to merely crushing. He was a whipped man, and if there's anything he has learned from his bias wrecker from Bangtan, it's that he was nice and that he should keep going. Unrelated, but who cares? He was drunk, everything had two heads, and he was whining about his nonexistent love life to his Majesty- who was just as drunk. So yeah, there wasn't any need for anything to make sense right now.
But how did he get here?
Oh yeah, ~ Hoseok had called him over to his Majesty's place. Something along the lines that his Majesty demanded his presence and a warning of some sort to be mentally prepared?
The Shaman should have warned him about preparing his guts instead. Who would have known that the poor alpha, otherwise known as Jimin, was called over for a drink off? The Progenitor was drinking like there is no tomorrow -as if his stomach was made to house those gallons of alcohol that were being consumed without any second thoughts.
Guess being immortal meant lesser pity for the organs which were struggling to function.
Of all things, Jimin could never have fathomed that he would be called upon to be his Majesty's drinking partner. Hoseok being a Shaman, does not drink, and Jeongguk can't rant about loving Taehyung to shreds to Taehyung himself, can he?
He was first a bit hesitant at first, drinking in front of his grace. But here he was drinking and whining about his whipped ass to his Progenitor, who was surprisingly lending his ears for the brunette's continuous blabbering and mental breakdowns. First, about his bias's cute pout and gummy teeth and then about Min Yoongi. He was ignoring him real bad as if he was a fungus-ridden mochi -his words, not mine.
Jimin was in the middle of singing a very messy and drunk version of the truth untold when he heard the loud shattering of glass behind him. The bartender seemed to have dropped one from the counter.
"Little Park why-" Jeongguk began but was interrupted by Jimin; the alcohol seemed to have pumped some courage in him, made the younger a lot braver it seemed.
"- Please don't call me that," he whined, seemingly scolding the Progenitor.
"I am not a kid anymore, call me by my surname if you can't call me by my name! Just get rid of that -little-," he continued to whine.
Jeongguk, who was caught off guard by this defiance, looked at him with wide eyes. No one has talked to him like that since forever. Not even Hoseok dares to attempt such ways of conversation with him. He wouldn't reprimand his behaviour, he had no malice behind it, but he wasn't able to stop the frown from growing on his face. He didn't want to ruin the comfortable atmosphere that had unexpectedly built up between them.
"Okay, then, um...Jimin?"
"Yes, your Majesty?" Jimin answered with a blinding smile, Jeongguk raised an eyebrow again. The boy seemed to have a lot of changes in his moods and that too very quickly
- "Why did you stop singing? It was... a good song."
"Nevermind that, your Majesty. Doesn't my lord have um.., ya know, have things to talk about? I mean, I have been doing all the talking. As far as I know, I was called here by your grace, but you haven't said anything to me yet,"
- "I do have a lot to talk about, little one," Jeongguk said as he looked up to the ceiling, visibly lost in conflict because of the thoughts surging inside him.
All he could think of was how angry he was at himself for letting such dreadful things happen to his Blood* while he selfishly slept under a spell. Jimin shook his head discretely, guess the -little- was staying. After all, he was but a child when compared to the immortal's long life.
- "Then you should. Maybe you'll feel lighter from it all,"
- "I can't, child. It's my burden to carry, and I shall not put you under discomfort by sharing it with you," Did Jimin mention that the man can't make a conversation?
- "Then... tell me how's it going?" Jeongguk looked at him in confusion, "I mean, how's it going with Taehyung?"
- "Taehyung...it's difficult. It's very testing if I were to tell you honestly -to control myself around my beloved Omega.
It's almost torture, not being able to reach out when he is right there, in my arms when his feathery lips touch my own. It feels as if I will lose all reasoning which struggles to stay with me. It's a blessing that I can't sense his alluring scent because of Hoseok's spell," Jeongguk said, relieved. But his tone had a desperate edge to it as if he wanted that scent to engulf all of him.
" I remember when my senses had taken a whiff of his scent 7 years ago, it still lingers in my mind, urges me to go feral, to claim him but I won't," he said with a determination far from drunk "not without my beloved's absolute consent, not like what I had done in the past,"
- "What do you mean?" Jimin asked in a strangled voice. He didn't like what he was hearing, suddenly there was anger bubbling in his chest. Even if he had no relations with the Taehyung of the past, he couldn't but feel protective of his best friend.
Jeongguk looked at him, considering the thought of opening up to Jimin, to let him know. Maybe, he thought, it was time he talked about it to someone other than the shaman.
Hoseok has been with him the longest, has seen everything that happened and thus naturally knew everything. There has never been a need to talk between them, the need to share things. He never had to go ahead and talk to him about anything.
This, this was something else. Something he hadn't done in so long that he had begun to forget it -confiding in someone.
He trusted the boy enough; maybe he could give it a shot.
"I loved Taehyung too much. I loved him so much that it had become dangerous," said Jeongguk, looking out the huge window that extended from the floor to the ceiling.
It gave a beautiful view of the sky, as well as the shining city lights below. It let him feel a little free even after being under the confines he created. He did not want to look into Jimin's eyes as he revealed his vulnerabilities and his sins. He deemed looking at the sky was much better.
- "It was all maybe a thousand years ago? Around the year 1500? I can't recall better. Hoseok told me that the flame of my mate's life had finally kindled, that he had begun existing. You wouldn't know the peak of happiness that I had felt, that finally...finally, I would have someone to call my own.
