The world as we know it ended 209 years ago.

Driven by the plight of the commoners and the unjust death of her family, Kay seizes the chance to graduate from small-time thievery to full-scale rebellion. Her opportunity comes in the form of Will, a wealthy ex-soldier with a dark past.
Plucked from the streets and thrown into the shimmering palace court, Kay must use her every strength to blend into a world where she doesn't belong, closer to the enemy than she ever thought she would be.
Personal reflection
This is the first dystopian and contrasting book that I've put in this collection. However I deemed it very necessary. This book is so amazing and it's so very well written. It's like the words paint a completely clear image for you. The character, oh the characters. I love some, I hate some and some are hard to place but whatever my personal opinion in them stands, they are so great and well built. The whole concept of the story and it's content in general is truly admirable. Even though it's not a cliche story that I usually recommend here, I strongly suggest you read it anyway. For the thrill, suspense, love, hate, sadness and every other thing that it will spark in you.
