The Rose

It was a happy afternoon in the garden one day

With the sun on top and flowers that lay

Amongst them hid a seed of belittle

No one was interested to fiddle

It was small, it was old

It was fragile and had mold

It just slept in its bed

While others spoke out and said

‘The garden is too beautiful and green

For someone like you not so lean

Stop growing and go away

You cannot live to see another day’

But the seed did not move nor care

For the world is so big to share

It just kept itself well hid

On hurtful words it put a lid

The rain and snow did fall

For the weather was harsh to all

Except for the seed who joyfully sang

While others tightly hang

Each month the seed grew new

But the others so vain didn’t knew

They grew new their petals and stem

But the seed still admired them

For it knew one day he too will rise above

With itself to encourage and love

To see more than the worms and the ground;

To smell and hear the birds’ sound

Just as spring was again reborn

The others felt a poking little torn

They looked above to see the seed

Had grew up to be what it need

A rose of red with leaves of fresh

It worn the royal crown and silk of dress

Jealous and envious of what had become

The seed so little had grew in sum

‘How did you grow so beautiful’ they ask

‘For we didn’t complete our task!’

The rose looked down and had a smile

Its purity shone for a while

‘To love yourself when others do not,

To see in the dark when the light is a dot,

To admire and dream of a better tomorrow

Will break down all your fears and sorrow’

Soon the garden was filled with colors than shine

No one was left behind the line

They helped each other grow in pose

All because of the seed that grew to be a rose.
