The Third Chapter

Chapter 3-The Rival

The next day,while I was at Anabeth's house talking to Breanna and Luke,someone came to the door. "I got it!"I yelled to Anabeth. When I opened it,a short girl about my age was standing there. "HELLOOOOOOOO." She said romantically. "Ummmmmmmmm,hi."I said. "Who is it Percy?"Anabeth asked from the living room. "Anabeth??"the girl shouted. "Kat??"Anabeth shouted. Then Kat took her eyes off of me and ran to meet Anabeth with a hug. "Kat?"Breanna said. "OMG,Breanna!!!"Kat yelled. Then she got a hug from Breanna. "So,Anabeth are you and Percy going out?" Kat asked with a smile as she looked at me. I looked at Anabeth with pleading eyes telling her to change the subject. It took her a moment to think but she came up with a better subject. "So,what have you been doing all this time Kat?" "Well,I've really not been doing anything. I've been looking for a job. Do you know where I can get one?" "No,not right off. But I'll tell you if I find you one." Anabeth said. "So,since we having seen each other in a while,do you think we could have a sleepover?" Anabeth thought about it for a moment,then yelled, "Mom,I'm having a sleepover ,you might want to get a hotel room out of town." Then she told me if I wanted to stay,I could have the guest bedroom. "I'll get my bags!"said Kat. "So you came all the way over here to ask me for a sleepover?"Asked Anabeth. "No,really I came over here because my mom and I just moved in down the street.So we were trying to make friends." "Oh,that makes sense."said Anabeth. "So Percy,are you staying?"Asked Kat. "Anabeth looked at me. "You know what, I think I will."I said. Then Anabeth looked at me and let out a sigh of relief. Kat had a look on her face that suggested she was coming up with a devious plan.

Kat' s P.O.V

Later that night,I decided to go into Percy' s room. When I got there I found out he snores a little. I thought it was cute. I didn't know he could get much cuter. When I got right next to his bed,Anabeth came walking down the hall with a bad case of bed-head. "Percy,what was that noise?"she asked peeking her nose into his room. When she saw me she turned on the light switch. "What the?"Percy asked waking up,his hair ruffled up.(Which made him look even cuter) "I found someone sneaking around."said Ananbeth,looking at me with a stern face. "HELLO!!!"He said,surprised to see me. "Hi" I said shyly. "What are you doing here Kat!?!?!?!?!!!" Then,I noticed Percy is really really cute when he is mad. "Well," I started,"I was coming to check on you when I noticed how cute you are in your sleep." Then I looked over at Anabeth who had a most unpleasant face on. Then I noticed I had said that aloud. "Did I just?" "Oh yeah." said Percy. "Busted!!"said Breanna as she came down the hallway. "But," I said, "he just," "No,Kat you need to get some sleep.You can have my room on the top floor." Anabeth with a mace that said I was never coming to her house again. "Ok."I said,walking away with my head low.

Anabeth's P.O.V

As Kat walked away,I walked over to Percy and said,"My mom can drive you home if you want." He looked at me sympathetically. "No,I'm good." he said. "Ok. I'll make sure Kat finds her way to the top floor." I said. Then I walked away. Kat was standing outside the door. I just looked at her. "I'm sorry,Anabeth if I ruined your sleepover." She said. it took me a moment to think if I'd forgive her or not. Then I said,"I forgive you. But you still have to sleep on the top floor." I said. "Dang it!!"She said. Then we all went back to bed.
