⊳ Flashback ⊲

"I'm sorry, I just- don't feel the same anymore.."

"Even after 3 years? You," sniffles were heard, "fell out of love?"

"I'm sorry.." and he left her with a broken heart.

⊳ 6 MONTHS LATER ⊲

"Hey, Chohee can I talk to you?"

She looked up and nodded, her friends giving Donghyuck nasty glares as they walked off.

They stopped at the rooftop, Chohee's arms crossed and looking at him directly. "So, what do you wanna talk about?" he sighed, looking back at her.

"Look, I'm sorry for, what happened months ago, I'm sorry it took a while for me to-"

"Cut the bullcrap, Donghyuck, you had no idea how long I've moved on, how long that I just became a different person, became distant to my friends and my own parents because of you. but, even after everything I," she sighed, "forgave you."

Hearing that made him smile a little, "So, can we be friends?" and took his pinkie out for her. She only nodded, connecting her pinkie with his.

"Friends."

⊳ MAJOR TIME SKIP ⊲

"Donghyuck!" she called out, him looking up and looking back at her. "Yes?" she smiled sheepishly. She went over to hug him and asked, "Can I copy your homework?" he sighed, looking at her before giving his notebook, her smiling gleefully.

"Well, I copied mine from Jeno's, so-" she looked at him, her eyes sparkling. "THE Lee Jeno?!" to be honest, he was kinda terrified but that didn't stop the butterflies in his stomach from fluttering. "Um, yeah? Why?"

"Wait, you know him? Isn't Jeno one of the popular kids around this school?" Donghyuck then replied, "Yeah, but he recently started hanging out with the homies." when I say her jaw dropped, oh boy it did.

She puts on her small puppy eyes, "Can you introduce me to him, or get me his number? Please." he looked at her weird, "Why?" she face palmed, deadpanned.

"Because I like him you dumbass."

"Hey, Hyuck!" Mark calls out, looking at his best friend. Donghyuck showed a small smile, before finding his glancing over his ex and his new best friend hanging and laughing, having a good time with each other. Jaemin saw the look from Hyuck's eyes, but decided not to say anything.

"Oh, hey." he sat down next to Renjun and Mark, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung sitting across from them. "What's up?" Mark asked, looking at him as he was spacing out. Donghyuck snapped back to reality, before reassuring his friends he's okay, well, expect one friend didn't believe that.

The 6 of them hung out and had a lot of fun at lunch as usual, but there was something that was unusual. Donghyuck didn't really paid attention of what his friends were talking about. His mind was only thinking about, well, his ex.

Truth be told, a few months into becoming friends after being exes, Donghyuck caught feelings with the brown haired teenager all over again. He knew it'd take a while for her to trust him and go back together again, considering her friends weren't really happy hearing about the two becoming friends after he broke her heart.

But, he knew he was too far from her heart ever since she was talking with Jeno and having a splendid time with each other. He knew he was spacing out, but for sure knew that one of his friends would realize, since they were a rowdy kind of group of friends, but there was someone eyeing him the whole time.

"You coming home with, Jeno?"

"Yes, after getting to know him, he asked me if he wanted to take me home and hang out for a little bit."

With that, Donghyuck's heart broke a bit, "Oh, okay then.."

"We can hang out tomorrow though, right?" he asked, hoping and staying positive.

He heard a sigh, "Jeno's gonna help me with math and science, so like, a study date sort of." the call went silent for a while before she pipped up, "But, we can hangout the day after tomorrow, right, a friend date?"

Damn, if she knew how much it hurts him that she was friend-zoning him right now.

Donghyuck only replied, his eyes glistening, "Y-yeah, sure. Have fun with Jeno."

Chohee smiled through the phone, "Thanks, oh! talk to you later, Jeno's here." and with that, she hung up. Donghyuck kept his head up, trying his best to keep his tears from falling down. He knew this would happen if they decided to become friends again, the other starts catching feelings for the other all over again, yet he told himself he wouldn't.

"So, this was how she felt when I broke her." he murmured to himself, sadly smiling,

"Hope Jeno treats you better than me, baby."

[29/9/2021 EDIT] Sorry for everyone who wanted to read the book, made the sudden decision to unpublish it, kinda for asking myself if i wanted to continue writing here, and thankfully! got my motivation back :D 

might not update THAT often, but i'll try my best :DD i'll also edit MOST of the older oneshots, bcs they make me cringe every time i read them again :') i also decided to have a name(???) for each 00 line's partner, so hope u don't mind that, anyway that's all from me, so until we meet again everyone!
