Beep beep beep
My eyes shot open from my sleep. I didn't even remember what I was dreaming about. I jumped down from my bed on the top bunk and slapped the alarm and it stopped making the ear piercing noise.
I dug my toes into the carpet and stretched and arms up to the ceiling. I went to my closet, trying not to wake up my friend on the bottom bunk. I grabbed my usual black pants and a grey T-shirt. I slid them on and walked out the front door sliding on my Nike air shoes and of course my shocks.
I sat on the porch on a rocking chair Jesse bought when he was higher then super man trying to rewind time. I hummed a random little tune that I made up.
Standing up I went to the shed and pulled out my bike and a pump. I sat in the dirt and put the pump into the tire and started pumping. After I started on the other tire and soon heard hard fast steps. Someone was running at me. I looked up seeing the forest lit up in a beautiful pink-orange. The steps were closer and closer but I think I knew who it was.
" Leah?!" I heard out a breath runner practically yell at me. I don't even know where he got the ability to yell at me after running for who knows how long.
I sighed and stood up starting to pump up the other tier.
" Yeah? It's me. Let me guess just finished your five mile run?" I asked not looking up at him.
He almost crashed into me when stopping. Finally I looked up at him with his face so sweaty it looked as if he just got out of the shower.
"Yeah I did. How come your up so early usually you do your bike ride at golden hour?"
I frowned my brow looking back down noticing he was wearing really short shorts. It almost looked like they were swim shorts. I giggled a bit, it was kinda funny.
" Golden hour? When do you use pretty words?" I chuckled a bit " I started riding my bike in the morning because I got sick of sunsets cuz I have to ride my bike that way, so I don't want to be blinded by the sun anymore." I stated finishing pumping up the tire.
"Ooo makes sense. Can I come with you?" He asked with an almost annoyingly warm smile.
" Yeah sure I guess why not, I don't see why you would want to... but sure " I said pulling my bike to the right and getting on the bike.
After about ten minutes of talking we started going down hill and he couldn't keep up with me.
" Ha ha! The runner can't keep up with the biker!" I sang in a snarky voice looking behind me to see him with his hands on his knees.
" Leah look out!" He yelled pointing at what was in front of me. I looked at what was in front of me. There wasn't enough time to see what it really was but there was time to move out of the way. My bike swerved in the dirt as I break.
" O my god, sir I am so sorry about that!" I said looking at the person from behind. They had a grey flannel and short black hair, but something was off about it. The back of his neck looked more veiny then a normal person. They were bold and a blue, purple.
" Leah get away from him!" I heard Aaden yell from up on the hill.
The man looked behind him, my eyes widened. This wasn't a man, not anymore from what I could tell. His crystal blue eyes looked glossy and bloodshot. His mouth was dislocated and dripping blood and a few of his teeth were missing as if he was it with a bat. I started to back away still holding my bike.
" Leah come on get out of there!" Aaden yelled gesturing I should go to him. I gulped and sat back down on my bike cautiously and started pushing the petals to move myself forward slowly.
The glossy eyes of the kinda man followed my body as I moved forward. It's eyes never breaking from mine. Going up the hill I looked back at Aaden and that's when I heard it scream like a dying lion. It was more piercing then my alarm. I started breathing more heavily and went faster up the hill to Aaden.
Once I got up there I looked at him " We need to go! " I said hurried and started riding home. He nodded and started running at the same pace of my bike. So I guess he could run the same pace as me if he really wanted to.
