'Our love has always been 10cm apart'
Great anime btw. You guys should watch it for all the weebs that read this!'Kazuki: POV
We stayed into a tight embrace as she snuggled her head onto the crook of my neck. It was rather comfortable, it's been a while since we've ever done something like this. It felt like we were actually a married couple who just got back together. Although I knew this wasn't going to last, I wanted to enjoy this moment. This may be the last times I'll ever spend time with her. Even if it was just for a little bit...
We pulled away, still continuing to interlock each other's hands.
"Kazuki, what am I going to do? My parents are only going to accept the marriage contract!"
She held my hooded shirt and clenched in t like there was no tomorrow. Y/N cried on my chest while trembling with letting words out.
I couldn't answer her question, I already knew I couldn't stay with her forever...but only one person knew the reason why.
••• Flashback •••
It was during the time in elementary school. The whole group and I were hanging out outside of the school gymnasium. It wasn't long until almost everyone in the group left one by one. Shouya just happened to be the only one.
"Shouya, aren't you going to catch up with the gang?"
"You sure? You're always staying here alone, is something going on?"
I breathed heavily as I used the last of my strength to urge a smile and speak.
"I'm fine, really. Go on. I'll catch up!"
The hint of my voice seemed weak, but was understandable. Shouya took a few seconds before walking away. The moment when he no longer showed in front of my eyes, I took the chance of letting everything go. I coughed immensely, I slowly trembled walking to the wall hat gave me support.
I used my one hand to keep me stable as J used the other to cover up the sounds. Once I let go of my mouth, blood was splattered on my hand which resulted it dripping to the ground.
A sudden crunch of small leaves caught my attention as Shouya stood still, frozen.
He ran immediately towards me and supported him using his arms.
"Kazuki, are you okay?! Quick, let's go to the infirmary"
We slowly got there and managed to get some pills. I got on the plain white bed and sat down. Shouya stared blankly into my eyes waiting for an explanation. I told him the truth, not wanting to lie.
"I've had this illness for a while, ever since I could remember even. When I was young, my mother gave me a normal glass of water that contained drugs. The powder wasn't visible so I took it not knowing she wanted to kill me."
I smiled to myself and continued to tell my story.
"Thankfully, my father came right in time and decided to split up with her. I've lived with him until today. He had done everything to find a cure but it didn't work as much as he'd hope."
"The only good thing about it is that it only takes effect for a few minutes"
A nurse suddenly walked in and noticed the two of us. She politely asked for Shouya to leave for me to rest. I called out his name, not as loud as I normally do, but loud enough for him to hear.
"Shouya"
As he was about to turn around and leave, he quickly responded.
"Yeah?"
"Don't you dare tell anyone about this!...Especially that girl"
He nodded and whispered.
"I won't"
••• End of Flashback •••
I think for a bit to choose carefully about my choice.
"Y/N, maybe you should consider E/N."
