The next day the storm had passed and I was feeling more like myself again. Currently I was making breakfast for me and Josh which was fruit pancakes. The speaker in the kitchen was playing the radio, and the entire room just had a good vibe to it.Think streams of early sunlight came through the small windows at the top of the basement walls, making the room glow orange. Josh was sat on the sofa playing video games whilst I waited for all the batter to cook on both sides.
I chopped some fresh strawberries and mango to put on the side and got out some syrup to go with them too. Once everything was done, I placed our food onto places and then put them down on the little table for two that was down here.
Josh got up from the sofa and went to sit at the table. As he passed me he wrapped his arms around my neck and pulled me into his back. He kissed my neck and cheeks sweetly making my face go beet red. I'm pretty sure I'll never get use to him giving me this much affection.
"Thank you Liv for making breakfast." He whispered into my ear from behind me. His warm breath tickled my ear slightly and made me want to squirm in his embrace. He pulled me against his body harder before letting go of me completely.
His actions were so sudden that it took everything in me not to tumble to the floor. He stepped around me and sat down on one of the dining chairs. I quickly composed myself before taking a seat across from him.
"You wanna go out today?" He asked as he shoved some syrup covered fruit into his mouth. I nodded. I really did want to go out again, it felt like years since last time I had left the basement.
The slight amount of colour I had managed to gain from last time I went out had long gone, leaving me with pale, rinsed skin once again. I wasn't sure how Josh even found me attractive anymore, my skin was so pale it was ghostly and my hair was way more shaggy. I needed a haircut so bad it was unreal.
I was less skinny then I was before I came here. In the last couple of weeks I had gained some weight as Josh actually cared about if I ate or not. He would make me meals when I didn't want to make them myself and wouldn't leave me alone until I had eaten them.
"What do you want to do? Anything in particular?" He asked. I shook my head. I didn't really care where we went as long as it wasn't in here.
"Why don't we go to the seaside. We could drive up today and stay in a hotel or something. Would you like that?" He suggested.
"Yeah." I said quietly. He smiled at me before grabbing my now empty place and his. He made his way over the sink and bagel to run the hot water.
"Why don't you go get ready whilst I clean this up." He said but it was more like a demand. "Remember to grab some clothes for tomorrow too."
I made my way over the bedroom and headed straight for the shower. I stood under the spray of the hot, clean water for a few minutes and washed my entire body with watermelon scented soap. I then got out and brushed my teeth before blow drying my hair. I went into my closet and slipped on some dark blue jeans and a plain white hoodie. I also grabbed some clean boxers, a shirt and some black jeans for tomorrow.
When I got back into my bedroom, there was a vans backpack on my bed. It was blue and black checkered and looked brand new. Inside it was empty, so I assumed that's where I was meant to put my stuff for the trip. I chucked in my clothes, along with one of Josh's hoodies that was on my bedroom floor and the toiletries I would need.
I slipped on some black low top vans before making my way into the living room. Josh wasn't here yet so I assume he was still getting ready. I wondered what this trip was going to be like. I hoped Josh would be more relaxed then he was last time, that he would trust me not to wonder off slightly more.
