Chapter 8

Batman POV:
The kid was definitely what you would call handsome and I could see that he smiled a lot, but when i told him he was on the mission he stopped smiling and turned cold. I could tell that he had turned off his emotions when he said, " When do we leave?" Instead of asking more questions or complaint he just asked for instructions, like a soldier. I could tell that the other members could see him change. I said, "Right now." He just nodded and then turned to follow the team like he was already in battle mode. I threw a batarang at him to see if he had reflexes and he caught it and threw it back without turning around. He just kept on walking.

Percy's POV:
I followed the team to a ship and got on board with them. While I got along with Zeus and I knew he wouldn't blast me out of the sky, I still didn't feel comfortable being in domain that wasn't my fathers. I focused my attention on the team. I didn't know their names so I asked, " What do I call you?"
"Kid Flash or Wally West, Flash's protege."
"Artemis" I mentally smiled at that.
"Robin, Batman's protege."
"Miss Martian, I'm a green Martian."

" Kaldur, I'm an Atlantan."
" Superboy, I'm Superman's clone."
"Thanks," I said. Then a thought popped into my brain. It was mostly because of Athena's blessing, but I still asked it anyway. "Since you're a clone, do you age?" He looked surprised that I asked that before responding, " No, I don't age, but I'm 16." I just nod before saying, " Well, when you feel alone just come talk to me because I'll know how you feel."
He looked at me strangely before saying, "You don't age?"
"Nope." I say popping the p. " I'm immortal." "So how old are you?" He asks
"22" I say.
At that moment Robin chose to ask, "So can you fight?"
"I guess, I mean I've been using a sword since I was 12 and I trained for 3 years learning different types of hand to hand combat. I've also trained with my powers." They looked impressed. "Where's your suit?" Artemis asks.

I tug on my bracelet that has charms, each
representing an Olympian god. The e bracelet had my suit. It was black with sea green swirls and lined at the edges and sides. There was a sea green trident like a crest in the middle. The mask was sea green and I had a silver belt going around the waist. The silver was to represent Artemis. The belt had many places to put my weapons in. For daggers, guns, and my ninja stars.

I also had swords on my back crossing each other. And like always, Riptide was in my pocket. They told me to tug on it and they said that it would appear on me instantly. It did appear on me.
"How did that happen?" Wally asked.
"Magic," i responded calmly.
He looked at me with a look of doubt on his face. He was about to say something when I felt a presence trying to cross into my mind. At that I got angry as the last time my mind was invaded I was being possessed by eidolons and I almost killed Jason. I put up a strong mental barrier and waited to hear who tried to invade my mind. Since it was strong the person trying to invade my mind would most likely let out a cry of pain. And sure enough Miss Martian did.

"What's wrong?" Wally asked concerned. She just pointed at me before saying, " How did you do that, only really strong people know to put up a barrier and why did you push me back?"

"I've had people control me using their minds, I wasn't going to let that happen again. Now why were you looking in my mind?" I said.
"I was just trying to set up a mind link, so that we could communicate out in the field."

"Oh. I'm sorry for snapping, but when you are going into my mind, please ask first." She just shook her head and Connor gave a small nod, while giving me a tiny smile. It was barely there, but I could see it.

"Just follow my lead and everything will be perfect." Robin says.

A few minutes later, he and Wally jump out without saying anything to the rest of us. I turn to them and mentally say, 'Let's check it out first and then we'll figure out what to do.'
