Owen apartment is cosy and warm, across on the right from the front door is a small corridor leading to what I assume is his bedroom and the bathroom on the side door. on the left is a small open kitchen, that leads to a large sofa with a boxy tv in front, it looks like everything was bought at a jumble sale but its clashing colours and style made it feel like a home rather than an ikea showroom.
"Sit down, ill get a bandage and a glass of water" he gestures his hand to the long black sofa, then heads to the bathroom for a first aid kit.
"Thank you, you know you really didn't need to do this." I plonk myself on the sofa.
"It's fine, I couldn't have just left you there." He says emerging from the bathroom with a small green box. He sits down on the sofa next to me, gets out some wipes and bandages, then starts wiping the cut on my head. He focuses on my cut but, all I can do is focus on his eyes.
The tension in my throat starts to hurt, He gets out the bandage and wraps it tightly around the bump on my head. His face is so close to mine I can feel his breath on my neck, I shiver.
"You sure you're not cold?" Our eyes lock again.
"I'm quite hot actually.." I gulp to try to relieve some tension in my throat.
I'm not the only red one now, He stands up quite abruptly.
"I'll get us some water then." he blurts out.
"Yeah. Yeah... sounds good." I'm completely flustered.
He pours some water out into two glasses and puts them on the coffee table.
"Would you mind if I got changed quickly, im still in my work uniform..." Owen smiles awkwardly.
"no no, yeah I don't mind," I say awkwardly.
He scurries away into his room. I relax my shoulders and take a deep breath. Taking a sip from my water, I look around the room. I spot a magazine... a. ugh.. gay.. magazine. I spit out my water from the initial reaction, does this kid know that the internet exists. I guess he wasn't expecting company. Yikes.
