Hi! *waves* :3 So here I am with the first part of the double update that I promised. *phew* I litterally have been tapping away on my keyboard all day on this and trying to get it perfect, but it still sort of feels like this chapter's missing something... Sorry! Either way, I hope you enjoy it anyways! -JessiexXx

'What goes up, must come down'

-Elsa’s POV-

“You know I’m only doing this for you, right?” Hiccup reminded me. “Because you’re a friend.” He looked as though he was trying to conceal how he really felt, although a hint of fear still shone through those forested green eyes.

I didn’t really know what to say in response, so I just smiled and nodded slightly. “Let’s go.”

I flicked my hair from my face and turned away from him, leading him through the mass of people and tables, towards Jack. It honestly felt as though I was marching him to his death or something. I could faintly hear him muttering things underneath his breath behind me as he followed. And I could’ve sworn he said something about a ‘cherry cake’. Strange.

To be honest, I wasn’t really sure why I wanted Hiccup to do this with me, when I could’ve asked any of my other friends. Okay, well perhaps not Merida since Jack shouted at her and no-one else, and definitely not Rapunzel, because she wouldn’t agree with stealing anything. Flynn, maybe, but for some reason Hiccup just seemed like the better choice. No offence to Flynn, of course.

Jack was stood alone in the lunch line, his hands stuffed into his pockets and a frown etched on his face. Not even a hint of a smile. And for some reason, before approaching him, I had to suck in a deep breath as though he were a stranger. Flynn’s words floated across my mind, ‘…then your heads are on spikes. Literally. Flaming spikes.’ However little did I know, something worse than flaming spikes was coming for us…

Okay Elsa, you’ve got it all planned out. Don’t worry. Here goes nothing…

“Hey Jack,” I said, flashing him a sickly sweet smile along with a small wave. Cautiously, Hiccup weaved through the line and stood on the other side of Jack. Jack just glanced at me and grunted, not seeming to notice Hiccup.

“What lesson did you just have?” I asked him, twirling my braid in my fingers nervously, and attempting to continue the conversation. Hiccup began to crouch slightly, giving me a small nod. I responded with a small wink that, to anyone who wasn’t in on the plan, would’ve appeared as a simple twitch of the eye.

Jack hesitated before answering. “Music,” he murmured. I nodded, my eyes frantically flicking between him and Hiccup who was now carefully reaching his hand out to Jack’s back jean pocket. Which, to anyone who wasn’t in on the plan, would’ve appeared very odd indeed…

“I just had Maths,” I said to Jack, rolling my eyes dramatically. I thought I was being pretty convincing.  At least drama club was good for something.

I took another deep breath. Everything was going according to plan! Jack had his eyes my way, Hiccup’s fingers were just brushing the top of the phone and, any moment now…

That’s when I realised that I’d had my eyes on Hiccup for too long.

Jack furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and followed my gaze.

Oops.

Jack began to turn around, and as he did, Hiccup suddenly jumped in surprise, losing his balance. He clearly didn’t expect Jack to turn so unexpectedly. The world span in slow-motion as he toppled to the floor. And Jack, still turning on his heel, twisted his foot and caught it up with mine. I too lost my balance, tripping and falling. I waved my arms in the air in desperation, trying to do anything to regain my balance. I screeched. Anything, but nothing worked. I shot out my hands to prevent myself from falling on my face…
