Suddenly Oria stopped in front of me and laughed.
"What?" I demanded.
"Well..." She gasped. "Only fire girl won't be hurt by the lava. The rest of you would fry like hamburger meat! Whatcha gonna do, dovey?"
I paused. "We'll figure it out- and my names Angel, not 'Dovey.'" Our fight resumed.
"Why don't we just leave you here, stuck, on top of the volcano? You'll kill yourselves eventually..." She mused. I wondered for a split second how she could talk right now- then I didn't have time to wonder because we were still fighting.
"Yes, that wouldn't be so bad. Then we could stop chasing you lost puppies and find what were actually looking for..."
I froze.
"Actually looking for w-" I realized how stupid I was just as Oria twisted my wrist and flung me into the open mouth of the volcano.

Gale's P.O.V.
The clunking from the side of the volcano pounded in my ears, louder, louder, until it was almost deafening. I sank to my knees, covering my ears. No one else seemed bothered- now I supposed I should have gotten some earplugs.
Something, almost unheard, whirred behind me. I ducked, and the powers that had disabled me a moment ago saved me now as a spinning disk flew over my head, crackling with electricity.
I glanced behind me and almost fell off the cliff.
The guy, Rey, wasn't kidding when he said Klay had some abilities.
The robot was about the size of a semi truck standing up on its back wheels. It looked like a beat up Transformer, from those movies about the cars that turns into robots. It was made of out rusty gold metal, or maybe bronze? The eyes- well, they weren't eyes, it was a glass window that let me see into the robot. Klay wasn't even at the control panel- he was behind tanner, and they were both fighting Aiden and Connor.
The machine turned to my direction, somehow glaring without looking at me.
"............" Was all the silent machine said without actually saying anything.
I suddenly leapt up off the ground and barely cleared as a huge tail swept beneath me. Damn.... My powers saved me again.
I sprinted towards the robot and skidded under it as the tail jabbed after where I was standing a moment ago. I jumped up and grabbed the base of the robots tail. It moved underneath me, the spikes digging painfully into my skin, but I pulled myself up, grabbing a panel separating legs from body.
I kept climbing till I had reach the top of its round head, almost slipping off the smooth surface. I kicked me feet backwards, but the glass was hard. Ree could break it easily, I thought. That was the thing- anyone else could have broken it easier than I could, but the tail would have destroyed them. That was the difference between our powers- mine were careful and more defensive, not a warriors powers, yet I was still here, alive.
I warily slid down onto the tiny shelf below the glass panel, balancing on my heels, waiting for the robot to inevitably aim for me. That was another difference- the robot was stupid.
I was proven rit when the tail came crashing up, the arms of the robot laden with rocks. Man, this guy was a multitasker- pelting the others with rocks and jabbing at me with his tail at the same time.
I managed to move my feet just in time as the tail smashed its on glass window. I was thrown downwards into the seat as the robot jerked forward.
The broken glass stung but I started flipping random switched, pressing buttons.
"1.." The word echoed in rays voice on top of the mountain. The robot shut down, tipping over. I shouted as it careened to on side, going hard to the ground and taking me with it.
Angels P.O.V.
My wings burned from the lava. I couldn't fly, not right now. I flailed, trying to catch myself.
A blur flashed beneath me right before i hit the lava and something grabbed me, zooming back up to the surface, right around the walls of the volcano, hands painfully tight on my wrists.
We reached the top and the thing turned out the be Aiden, panting and falling on the rocks.
"Aiden?" I asked incredulously. He nodded, breathlessly." Yeah..."
"The question was rhetoric." I laughed weakly.
"Oh... Sorry...."
"Guys!" Ree came over, her cheeks cherry red, whether from exhaustion, the heat, or some other third reason. (A/N SPONGEBOB MOVIE!)
"They're all gone. Disappeared when that Malaka Omorfa said 'one.' She said once we had gathered together. Ree shrugged when several looks were turned her way
"I'm greek. Moved to New York when I was 5. So what?"
I took in the overall health of our team. Gale was bruised and bloody in several places, Connor was a bit scraped but overall fine, like most of us, actually. Jake's eyebrows were knitted in confusion over something.
"Where do we go next? Down to the volcano? The lava would burn us, though. Should we get some first aid supplies for the bleeding?" I babbled.
"Angel- calm it. Everyone will be fine. Just a couple scrapes on us. Nothing major. You're burned a bit, though." Galepointed out my singed wings. Lavada poked his shoulder. He winced.
"See? Is your shoulder dislocated or something? Besides, like I said-"
"What do we do next?"
Ree stood and walk over to Gale.
"Brace yourself." She warned.
"Wha-" he started, but I'm pretty sure nothing could have braced him for Ree punching him in the shoulder. He made in inhuman noise for a moment, then sighed with relief.
"Okay. Thanks- that actually feels a lot better."
"Back to the question of getting to the Tunnels under the volcano." Lavada interrupted, of all people, the quietest one.I was started to understand everyone a bit. "I'm the only one who could reach it unharmed."
"Actually, I think I might have an idea."
