It's strange how everything you have done in your life so far has led you to this moment.
Only one small decision for the whole life to turn upside down.
Stella glanced at a round metal clock on an empty white wall. It was 8 AM on a rainy Tuesday morning. Time to get ready for a driving lesson and go to school after. But not today.
The sound of a ticking clock echoed loudly in her head. It reminded that everything around was empty like the chair she sat on and the small voice recorder pushed towards her.
''Okay, Stella, we will start now. I need you to remember exactly what had happened yesterday. Whenever you are ready.''
Detective, a petite blonde woman with sharp gray eyes sitting on the other end the table, looked friendly. Stella couldn't remember her name but it didn't matter now. The woman in front of her was just doing her job: investigating the case without missing the smallest bit of information she was about to receive.
''October 27th, Tuesday. 08:22 AM. Testimony of Stella Fisher.''
Stella's heart started to race. She needed to go back and she wasn't ready yet. After all, every step she took, every word she spoke and every decision she made so far has led her baby brother disappearing from his own bed last night.
And it all started with a bad dream.
