Five kept looking at him weirdly. It was unsettling for Alex. It didn't help that Alex was getting a headache, and it got worse every time he looked at Five, or Five looked at him.

And Five stank. It wasn't something Alex had the displeasure to smell before, but it was like that portal. Alex didn't know why he knew the answer, but Five smelled like time, and it wasn't agreeing with Alex.

"You good, old man?" he asked, after they witnessed Five look at Alex with a sad sort of look in his eyes for what felt like the hundredth time.

Five frowned at him, pursing his lips. "You're Alejandro Alberto Santiago." he said, like he was making a statement, a fact.

"Alberto?" Klaus giggled. Alex turned and glared at him, but did notice the amused look on Diego's face as he held back his own laughter. He reached over and punched Diego's shoulder.

"Fuck off, man, my mom was high as fuck when she named me." Alex said, then punched Klaus' shoulder too. "I take it from your future endevours something happened?"

Five tilted his head from side to side, like he didn't want to reveal things. Which was understandable because paradoxes and the space time continuum wasn't something Alex knew well enough. "Things happened. I'm sorry."

Alex shrugged. "I mean, fair." he said as Diego made a noise, like he wanted to know what exactly happens in their future.

"Also, your dad is a shithead."

Alex gave him two thumbs up. "So was yours,"

Five chuckled, zapped away, then zapped back, holding out some painkillers and a glass of water. "For your headache. Time's a bitch, right?" Alex nodded, frowning a little as he took the pills and water, taking a few.

He felt Diego put a hand on his hip briefly, and Alex looked at Diego, both as confused as each other. Alex didn't know what was going on, and he was nervous as to if he'd find out what this meant. It wasn't long after that Five disappeared, presumably to get fitting clothes.

🗡☂️🔥

"You're not concerned what the hell he was talking about?" Klaus asked, fiddling with the guitar in his hands. Five was ignoring them in favour of searching through all the drawers.

"Not really," Alex said, leaning back in his chair, feet kicked up onto the table. "I mean now that Five's back, he's going to want to stop the apocalypse, which might stop whatever happened to me."

Klaus nodded, head tilted back. "Diego looked worried."

"Diego's always worried; I have fire powers."

Allison came into view, frowning as she caught the last end of the conversation. Alex was just relieved that she didn't ask anything about it. "Where's Vanya?" she asked instead.

"Oh, she's gone," Klaus said.

"That's unfortunate," Five said, appearing beside Alex's chair. Allison made her agreements. "An entire square block. Forty-two bedrooms, nineteen bathrooms, but no, not a single drop of coffee." Five put down the tin in his hand with more force than necessary.

"Dad hated caffiene," Allision told him.

"Well, he hated children too, and he had plenty of us," Klaus said, and Alex chuckled with him.

"I'm taking the car."

Klaus looked up from the fret of the guitar. "Where are you going?"

"To get a decent cup of coffee."

Allison frowned at her young-again brother. "Do you even know how to drive?"

"I know how to do everything." Five said, then promptly vanished.
