She watched as the waves crashed towards the shore. The beach wasn't silent ... it was like the storm within her trying to break free.
The deep blue water resembled so much with life to her ... the water in the sea was so similar to life. When you look at the shallow ends all seems fine but the deeper you go, the darker it gets and it no longer remains just what you see.The smiling faces of people around her reminded her so much of all of them. It always opened the part of her that she had locked inside, this place ... this beach always opened all the locks and broke all the walls.
For a moment she allowed the grief to consume her, the sorrow to flow through her veins cause that was a weird satisfaction too... there were months when she walked as a zombie ... she was breathing but she wasn't alive... it was until she came into her life. She decided to live again.Even when the pain scratched her chest and she couldn't breath, it made her feel alive again. Atleast she could feel and she wasn't a zombie again.
"Momma ... momma" little feet's paddled towards her pulling at her clothes to get her attention.
"Yes baby" She asked masking every pain with a smile for she was the reason.
"Boalloan" the baby gushed clapping her hands cheerfully and giggling. Unwantinly a laugh escaped her own lips at the mispronunciations of her daughter.
"It's a balloon baby" she cooed.
"Momma .. I wabnt boalloan" the girl clapped her hands enthusiastically, unbothered if she pronunciated it wrong.
"Well let's get you one then" she smiled as she got on her feet, dusting off the sand from her clothes. she held her little hand and walked towards the man selling balloon.
With three balloons in her hand the girl ran wildly on to the shore, her innocence shining in her eyes as she so wished that her daughter never have to see darkest nightmare life has shown her but she knew it was matter of time and some day ... this innocence will be lost in nothing but dusk and dawn."Baby ... stay close" she ordered suddenly concerned, for the mother in her couldn't bear to see her little princess hurt.
There was nothing in her life except for her daughter, she was all she had.
With a life that had no purpose, no reason to be alive she chose to have her daughter.
She knew it wasn't the best decision to have a daughter when she was barely 19 and just graduated but things didn't always went as planned and if not her daughter, she had no reason to be alive and now things were changed... she was older and wiser. Last years had changed everything in her life. Many people found it boring but not her. There was a different satisfaction in watching her daughter's blue eyes shine in the sun as her milky white skin gleamed like the pearls from depth of the oceans. There was happiness in watching happiness gleam in her daughter's eyes.
Their was a part of her, part of her that was with them.... part of her that she couldn't have back but this ocean had made her strong enough to pledge to not want it back ever again.*************************
The silence on the dining table turned into deafening sound of shock as he stepped into the hallway.
It had been months or probably years since when they last saw him. The life that once existed in his eyes had changed into hollowness that no one could fill.
He didn't bother looking at the three on the dining table, he never did and they had long given up except for his mom.
He showed up at times but those times meant once in 6 months or sometimes a year. It wasn't easy for him, last 6 year had Broken all the hopes in him.
If there was anything enough to break the strongest person on this earth, it was guilt and it hit harder when it came from losing someone you loved."Caden, son would you like some dinner??" Catherine asked although everybody on the table already knew the answer.
"No thanks mom" he answered walking upstairs.
The family had never really been a family to him but that didn't stop him from staying with them in the same house... he could do it if that satisfied his mom's happiness but after what happened 6 years ago he couldn't stay here.
He couldn't stay in the corridors where he saw her for the first time, engulfed in her little world ... talking to her own self about the problems of her life.
He couldn't stay in the room where he saw her breakdown in tears for the first time as her guard felt down and she allowed him to see how much his actions affected her.
He couldn't sit on the dining table where he once sat having dinner with as she sneaked glances at him and playfully joked with his siblings.
He was the strongest and the coldest mafia leader around the globe but he couldn't do it cause it was the love that had consumed him.
She had turned him into the coldest yet the weakest man on this earth. His chest had turned hollower than before as the memories worked as daggers across his chest.
She was the one who had sneaked into his chest and made his heart beat again and now that she was gone ... she had taken his heart with her.
The moment he prayed for her to come back... he remembered their last meet. What would he even do if they met anyway. He didn't have the guts in him to face her again.
She kept begging and he didn't trust her. When he was supposed to hold her hand, he instead fired the gun on her.
He knew he didn't deserve her but that didn't stop him from searching for her. He wanted to see her, even if he couldn't meet her ... he wanted to watch her from a distance. He wanted to see the smile spread across her lips. He wanted to see her hairs flowing through the wind.
He would be glad even if he could be a shadow sneaking beneath, watching her.
