Shadow

I started to pick up my pace towards the shadow, now going full-on running speed. As I rush towards him, he disappears as if disappointed with me. "I'm trying to protect you," he said in my dreams. Liar, you just fucking left me as everybody else does.

The firefighters were almost done with putting out the intense fire. We also figured don't have to leave this mansion because we can remodel everything so it'd be the same, but slightly more modern. I prayed to the Star Gods, Ishkar and Mujyn, for safety while we slept under the roof of our cosy, big cabin. I missed the palpable feeling of the shadow watching me as I sleep. I guess he is too old to come out and play with me.  I went outside to lay on the grass and said: "Why am I so curious," like I did once so long ago. One minute, five minutes, twenty minutes, and finally an hour passes and still no response. Time passed too quickly for me to enjoy it and the shadow boy no longer comes out to play with me. I turned lonely, even after that promise we both said to each other while linking pinkies.

Even after years of not seeing him, I still love him.

Purely.
