I'm prepared today. I hop out of mums car and skip easily over the mud puddle. I hide my face as I walk past my sisters group. I find my timetable and go to my first class: maths. Yuck. There are many subjects but on a Tuesday morning first thing I need to have maths.
I walk to my maths class. There is a bench outside it so I sit down and wait for the bell. I pull out my favourite book: Rangers Apprentice. There are 11 books in the series and I'm almost finished number 9. Just as I finish the last page the bell rings and off in the distance I see the bustle and bashing of people getting to class.
As I sit down quietly some of my classmates turn up. I spot a really cute boy. I want to know his name but I'm too nervous to ask.
A nice looking girl shows up. I ask her for her name. Why is it easy to ask girls but not guys? She answers in a low voice. I can tell she is shy. Atleast for now she is. "My name is Amanda".
"Hey", I say to Amanda. "Can I sit with you in class?" "Sure", she answers. I can tell that she is already getting more comfortable.
Our teacher arrives and we waltz in and find a seat. Mr Petre starts writing on the board. "So yesterday we wrote down our class rules and talked about how we are going to set our books out.", he says. Amanda nudges me and points to the line down the middle of the page. She explains to me that we need to write in two columns. She starts showing me the rules that she had to write in the back of her book when Mr Petre shouts at her. Oh damn. She has to move. Oops! Oh well.
We start working on some easy symmetry and things and when we have about 10 minutes left of the lesson Mr Petre allows Amanda to come sit back with me. We just chit chat until the end of lesson.
Oh yeah. I almost forgot to mention. Now we call our maths teacher Mr Pee Tree. Creative yeah?
