Hi guys, now the first step to creating a good cover is getting inspiration. Go to your search browser and look up '(genre) book covers' and take a look through them. Here are some examples:
Sci-fi:

See how they all have a sort of theme? Browse through these examples until you have an idea for what you want your cover to look like. If you're feeling ambitious, using a pencil you can draw a little thumbnail of what you want.
