This is it. A year with a person who I love. She makes me happy. Right now I'm in my car on my way home. Christina is waiting for me. I want to propose to her. She's my now and future. We can handle everything. Fake or real. She makes me want to improve. I got an engagement ring for her. The one that she deserves. We both deserve each other.
Christina POV
As I'm waiting for my Leo to come to my eyes land on the back of a picture. It looks like it's been fallen from somewhere. It is on the carpet right beside the bookshelf. I took it. My heart is beating so fast. I know Leo is only with me. I mean he's not cheating, right. Just when I got all my strength to turn the picture to see what is the phone ring. I put the picture in my pocket and answered the phone.
"Hello"
"I'm sorry but you need to come to the hospital." The person on the other side of the line said.
"Hospital?" I asked slightly shocked.
"Just come fast. It's about Leo Tall." Whoa, what is going on?
"Ok coming," I said before I get ready.Leo's POV
What just happened? I was driving home and then suddenly a car hit me!
I am half-conscious. "Doctor we're losing him." Wait I'm in an OR. No, it's not the time. Christina needs me. I have changed. I never thought about anyone before myself, but now I'm thinking of Christina. I wanted to surprise her with my propose.
Christina POV
I never in my life got to the hospital this fast. I get inside.
"Hello you called me regarding Leo," I said trying to steady my voice.
"Yea, there was a car crash. He's in the OR now." The nurse told me looking at me. "I'll go get an updated." She added.I sit on the uncomfortable bench hoping that it's nothing. There's a cold breeze in the hospital. I close my eyes. Why she's not coming. I feel like it's been ages since the nurse left for an update.
"Hey," a man said. I look up and there was standing a doctor.
"How is he?" I asked getting up.
"I'm so sorry." He said looking sad. Then he whispered. "Go into the room." Can someone tell me what's going on?!
I look at him.
"What is going on?" I asked frowning.
"He... There was a car crash. He can't move his leg anymore. His leg got crush in the accident, but I want you to go in there. I know you are strong." He said.
I just walked inside. This better is a joke or nightmare. He's lying on the bed. His body is perfect. He's ok. Doctor right there scared me. I'm sure my eyes are red from crying, but I don't care. I love that man. What hurts more is that I never told him how much I love him, and now he's with someone else? I couldn't even bring myself to look at the picture.
I get to him and sit on the chair beside him. I'm so glad he's ok.
"Hey," he said not opening his eyes.
"Hey" I replied trying to keep myself calm, but it seems like he sensed that something is up.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked.
"Are you cheating on me?" I asked hoping I'm wrong. No I know I'm wrong.
"What?" He opened his eyes and look at me. "What makes you think that?" He asked.
"The picture. I couldn't collect myself to see how she looks like."
"Oh, I got it." He said to put his back up in the sitting position. "I wanted to propose to her." He adds.
"What?" I asked getting up.
"Relaxed do you have the picture with yourself?" He asked which I found it odd to ask. What is he doing now?
"Of course I do."
"And you haven't actually look at the picture?" He chuckled. What is wrong with him. He's not only cheating...
"I love her. It's been a year now. I couldn't tell her. I can't. She'd think I'm playing with her." Leo said cutting the tail of my thought.
"Why are you telling this to me now?" I asked. What is this? am I jealous?
"Could you please pick something from my pocket?" He asked me.
"What is it," I asked.
"A small box." He answered. I find a box in his pocket. I take it out. It's a white jewelry box.
"Open it." He said. I shoot a glance at him. "Please." He added.
"Oh fine." I opened it and trust me you can not find anything this beautiful and elegant.
"Does it fit you?" He asked.
"It's not mine, but..." I take it out and put it on my finger.
"Who said it's not yours?" He asked. He's closer to me now. I lift my head to see him. He's in one knee. "Christina, since you came in my life. My life has changed. You are the only person who I think when I am about to sleep, and I wake up with your thoughts. I know a year isn't long for most people, but not for us. I think you think like me." He said holding my hand in his.
"Go and propose to her. You just said that you've been with her for a year and you wanted to tell her that you love her." I said suddenly remembering the picture I took from the carpet.
"Look at it." He said. "Look at the picture." He's insane. Why would he tell me to look at the picture?
I took out the picture from my pocket. The ring on my finger looks just nice. It feels nice. I look at the picture. It made my eyes wet. Not sad cry, happy cry.
"It's you. Around 7 years ago. When you lived with me as your fake girlfriend." The picture was me. It was just my picture."I love you too," I said before I kiss him. The one kiss that couples do when they can't talk anymore. The one that is full of emotions. The ones that when a guy proposes to a girl the girl just kisses instead of saying yes. Just because...
I am willing to do a lot of things with him. We both want one thing, and that's each other's attention.
6 months later
Leo and Christina married, and they start their life.
Real-life doesn't have the end, but it simply transforms from one form to another.
