He knew something was going on when an owl was sitting outside his window sill.

It was a pretty owl, with tawny brown feathers. That was the first thing that caught his attention.

The moonlight was dim, and the only light in his room was the lamp. The shriek of the owl had woken him up at five in the morning. The London sun hadn't risen.

He noticed the note tied to its leg a few seconds later.

Henry reached out. The owl shrieked.

"Shush!" Henry whispered-yelled. "You'll wake my parents!"

The tawny-feathered owl seemed to understand. She held out her leg, and Henry untied the note.

Dear Mr. Logan,

P. S. This owl is a gift from Professor Santon, Headmaster of Hogwarts.

Henry's jaw was open wide. His own owl?! Hogwarts?! He grabbed the piece of paper behind the note and read it.

Henry's heart leaped. His sister had gone to Hogwarts, and his parents. And when he had turned eleven in June, he had thought he wasn't going. That he was a squib. But he wasn't! He stroked the owl, then, as it waited on the windowsill, he yanked open the door and caught the owl's eyes. She seemed to know what he meant.

The tawny owl let out a shriek, loud enough to echo around the house. Henry heard his sister's footsteps in seconds. His parents followed closely behind.

His fourteen-year-old sister, Hailey, came running in and smiled at the owl. Her arms shot around Henry. Mr. and Mrs. Logan hugged him as well.

"My little brother's going to Hogwarts!" Hailey whispered.

"He'll be in Gryffindor, like his father and sister," Henry's mother said.

"And mother," His father said.

"I get to keep the owl, too," Henry said.

"What'll you call her?" Hailey asked. She had a tortoiseshell cat, called Lizia. He'd always envied her pet, and now he finally had his own.

The name came to Henry immediately. The name he was planning to call any pet he would ever have, as long as it was a girl. "Luna."

Two days later, Henry sat in the car as his parents drove him through London. They finally pulled to a stop, in front of a shop called 'The Leaky Cauldron'. As soon as they stepped inside, Henry knew it was an inn. There were tables set up below, and there was a staircase leading to an upstairs. People sat on most of the tables, having drinks and lunch. Luna was perched on Henry's shoulder

"This is the way to Diagonal Alley?" Henry asked.

"It's Diagon Alley. And, yes." Hailey told him.

"Won't non-magical people come in, then?"

"No, muggles can't see The Leaky Cauldron." Henry's mom told him.

"Muggles?" Henry asked as they neared the back door.

"Non-magical people, as you call them." Henry's father said.

"Mrs. Logan! Mr. Logan!" Someone called. An elderly man was walking over.

"Ah, Sam! Hello." Mrs. Logan said, shaking his hand.

"Ca' I ge' you a room?" The elderly man, Sam, said with a heavy British accent.

"Yes, one of the family rooms, please." Mr. Logan said.

"O'ay." Sam walked off, behind a bar. Luna nibbled on Henry's ear and flapped her wings.

"I told you, there isn't anything else for you to mail! You took the confirmation letter, and that's it." Henry told her. Luna stopped flapping her wings, but she bit Henry's ear again.

Sam was done behind the bar. He had pulled out a pair of keys. "Go drop off you' stuff. I'll watch the ki's." He handed the keys to Mr. Logan.

"Thank you, Sam. Hailey, Henry, wait for us here." Mr. Logan said.

"So, you e'er heard o' 'Arry Po'er?" Sam asked.

"Harry Potter is just a child's tale. He's not real." Hailey said.

"Oh, 'e's real!" Sam said.

"Really? Prove it! And stop scaring my little brother!" Hailey said sharply.

Henry wasn't scared, but he knew not to say it. His family knew that Harry Potter was a legend, and not real.

"Oh, I ain' lyin'. An' you' brother ain' scared." Sam said. Hailey rolled her eyes as one of the people at the bar turned.

"Sam, you're crazy! Harry Potter's not real, and you need to get over it." He cackled.

"I' serious! He's real!" Sam cried.

Henry ignored Sam and the other man. Was it true? There was no proof Harry Potter was fake, nor any that he was real.

Finally, Henry's parents came downstairs, now brandishing long wands instead of bags. Without talking, the two led Henry and Hailey to the back door, where they opened it, only to be faced with a small space with a brick wall.

Mr. Logan knew exactly what to do. He chose one brick and silently tapped his wand onto it. Henry watched, full of envy as the brick wall shifted and opened.

Revealing rows of shops, and crowds of wizards. Luna shifted nervously. Henry gulped, still full of excitement. Hailey patted the shoulder Luna wasn't sitting on.

"Welcome to Diagon Alley."
