You sat on the couch in your apartment. Blanket upon blanket burying you in front of your fake fireplace. You wanted a real fireplace, but your landlord wouldn't let you.
You set your apartment on fire once, and they never let you live it down.
Your girlfriend, Himiko Toga, came over carrying a tray with two mugs of hot chocolate and a canister of cinnamon sticks. Himiko sat the tray down on the table in front of you. With a soft smile, she turned to you.
"You're warm, I'm cold. Hug me."
You give your girlfriend a teasing smile.
"Can't. You murdered my snowman earlier."
Himiko crosses her arms to help warm herself as she pouts at you.
"But I made you some cocoa. I even put extra fudge in it."
You lift your blanket barricade up to let her inside.
"You can hug me... But we gotta do some serious cuddling and watch some Christmas movies together."
Himiko grabs the remote and slides under the blankets next to you.
"Elf?"
"Let's watch Noelle. I didn't make yet another Gmail account to not take advantage of yet another free trial."
Himiko hits play in the movie and bury herself into your side. You run your fingers through her hair and smile.
You loved your girlfriend. Even when she killed your snowmen.
