Walking on the beach, yeah that's what I was doing when out of nowhere some dude tackled me. I don't know why I didn't see it coming because that's what makes me different from everyone else.

I'm psychic.

Look, I'm not one of those people who claim they can predict everything that is going to happen in the future. I usually only get short flashes about something that is going to happen later in the day. So far all my little visions have been about myself, like what grade I got on my math test or who's going to be calling. Yeah I know real helpful.

But on the rare occasions that something exciting is going to happen to me my psychic super power usually lets me know but not today I guess.

Anyway this guy tackled me and after I got a face full of sand and he got off me. I got up, turned to face him and I started to say, "Hey what's y...," but that was all I could get out because then I looked at him.

He was the first to recover, "I'm sorry I thought you were someone I know."

Let me tell you this guy could tackle me anytime he wanted to, that is how gorgeous he is. That is if you think a guy with black hair that is kind of messed up, and is slightly too long so that it curls a little in some places with silver-fog colored eyes, wearing a black shirt, black leather jacket, and jeans that look like they were made just for him, is hot which I do.

"My name is Logan," he informed me with a devilish smirk that I didn't understand. He cocked his head to the side slightly and stared at me intensely.

"Phoenix," god I don't know why I said that! I haven't told someone my real name in ages. Even my school doesn't know my real name. When my family moved we changed our last name so we wouldn't be known as the freak family anymore. I was the only one in my family who had to change their first name.

He interrupted my thoughts, "Interesting name, is there a cool story behind it?"

"No not really," I lied, "well it was nice meeting you but I got to go," I finished. Then I turned around and started to walk away but he followed me.

"So one day your mom just decided to name you Phoenix?" "Sounds kind of sketchy to me."

"Okay listen," I snapped. I know I was being short with him but I was pissed off at myself at the moment. When I got to where I had set my stuff down I turned around to finish my sentence but he was gone, I felt a shiver go down my spine. Suddenly I found myself wishing that I hadn't come to the beach tonight.
