I wake in a grand room, it is large and beautiful. The walls are a light blue color, with wood floors, and a cozy, white rug in the center. The bed I'm laying in is very big and has white, fluffy pillows with a blue comforter. The window across from me is letting in a wonderful array of light, it makes the room bloom.
I wonder were I am. Then I remember him. Charles. Who was he?
He was hot, that's who.
No Natalie, get your hormonal mind under control!
The the door opens slightly, and quietly, in pops a little head. She has big, blue eyes, dark, thick curls and rosy cheeks.
"Good morning!" she says cheerfully, "I hope you slept well, Charlie said he found you in the middle of the road. He said you had been beaten and robbed. Charlie rescued you."
"Good morning to you too." I say sluggishly. I probably look like a train wreck.
I wonder who this little girl is? She looks a bit like Charles...
"Callia, please leave our guest alone." I hear a deep voice say.
"Charlie! She is awake now!" Callia squeals.
Charles walks in and Callia follows like a dog. She is so cute. He comes over and sits down on the bed looking into my eyes.
"How are you feeling?" He asks gently.
"I'm feeling better." I say as I sit up. He helps me as if I'm a fragile doll. "Where am I?" I ask.
"You're in our summer house!" Callia explains."
"You can stay as long as you need, or want to." Charles says.
I nod but say, "I can't, I mean I want to, but my step-mother will wonder where I am. I should probably leave..." Say trailing off, I watch as Callia's facial expression turns into a mourn.
"But don't you like it here?" She pleads.
"Yes, I like it very much, but my step-mother, will worr-" No! Natalie she will NOT worry about you! "She will, ummm wonder where I am..." I answer. Charles gives me a strange look but doesn't say anything.
"Well... okay... but you could come visit us, right?" She says.
I nod.
"Promise?"
" I promise."
