Chapter 14

I am woken up by Maya screaming

"What's wrong?" I ask as soon as my brain can form words and she laughs

"Told you it would wake her up," Bekah says and I roll my eyes and E hands me a coffee and kisses me 

"Thanks," I say and take a seat next to him to watch the chaos that is my family

"I think they're going to fast don't you sister?" Kol asks and Bekah rolls her eyes as  Davina glares at him

"They're only 17 Kol let them have their fun." Davina says putting her arm around his waist

"Just don't make Nik a grandfather, because you know my brother and Hayley too for that matter will come back from the dead to kill us all if you get pregnant before your 20," Bekah says causing Maya to go into hysterics while Ethan is speechless at this point I am more or less used to Kol and Rebekah's speeches about boys so I just roll my eyes before going to get ready for school and then Maya and Ethan head to the car as I hug Kol and Bekah Davina and Marcel and say my goodbyes

"Hey you know we can be here in an hour tops if you need us right," Marcel says when I hug him

"Of course I promise I won't purposefully do anything stupid without calling you guys," I say and Kol rolls his eyes

"Please you are my brother's only daughter stupid is in your blood reckless is from your mom's side and the whole angry alone in the world thing is both of them please just text us before you jump in that pit again because we all know there will be an again and we need to make sure you are safe Hope you were the most important thing in the world to your parents we all know Nik is watching over you you've heard the stories he was paranoid cruel and trusted nobody but himself and he only really loved you and he is probably screaming on the other side watching you become paranoid and untrusting as well," Bekah says and I nod

"I know and I'm trying to be better it's hard but I think Maya and Ethan are helping," I say and give everyone one last hug before I head to Ethan's truck

"So what was that about why did they just show up?" Maya asks

"Fraya told them I left the boarding school, they freaked and it didn't really help that I had a boy that they don't know in my bed," I say and they nod

"Understandable I guess, your Uncle is extremely hot by the way," Maya says and I roll my eyes

"He's married to my Aunt Davina they've been married 10 years," I say and they both look at me like I'm crazy

"He doesn't look old enough to drink much less be married for a decade," She says and I laugh

"He's actually the oldest that showed up today he's 32 but us Mikaelsons are cursed with eternal youth I'm afraid I will look 18 till I die," I say and they laugh

"Anyways Math test," Ethan says and I groan I hate math but we go to our class and then practice like a normal day and luckily I didn't need help with the pants again and when I get home from practice Lizzie is waiting on my couch

"Lizzie?" I ask and she sighs

"We need to talk," she says and I am instantly concerned

"What's wrong is everyone ok?" I ask instantly going worst-case scenario

"Are you going to tell Maya and Ethan the truth?" she asks and I sigh

"I don't know if I keep hanging out with them I guess eventually they'll realize I'm hiding stuff from them and it may be safer if they don't know but I don't want to lie them if Ethan and I work out it'll eventually get the point where I have to tell him for his safety or leave him for his safety but with Maya, it's different in a week she's become the best friend I've ever had but can I trust her with something this huge? Not to mention your father will have a cow and if I tell them am I putting the boarding school at risk? What if I tell them and for some reason they contact a company like triad?" I say and Lizzie grabs my shoulders and literally shakes me

"Snap out of it Hope yes all of that can happen but what if Ethan is the one in ways Landon never could be? What if me you and Maya are like Mom Aunt Bonnie and Aunt Elena yes Dad will be pissed and you've heard the 'we don't fraternize with the locals' speech a million and one times but dad doesn't remember you and 20 years ago when Damon and Stefan Salvatore came to this town they told Aunt Elena who in turn told all her friends how is this different" she says and I sigh it really isn't too different other then the fact I just met Maya and Ethan at the beginning of the school year

"Just I don't know go talk to Elena," She says and I sigh

"I'll think about it," I say and she smiles 

" That's all I ask," she says and I roll my eyes

"I can't believe I'm even considering this you realize my dad is probably screaming for me not to go do you realize how many times they tried to kill him? At least they're both human I guess then again your dad's human" I say and she sighs

"So how are things at the Salvatore School?" I ask

"Horrible I thought I was finally healthy and mentally ready for a boyfriend I meet this hot vampire guy only to find out he was all in my head it's official I'm actually crazy," she says and I am shocked

"Are you sure he's not real? I mean your a lot of things Lizzie and you'll own most of it but I've never thought you were crazy," I say and she sighs

" MG recorded me on a picnic by myself talking to myself," she says

"Ok that's weird but it doesn't necessarily mean he's not real. You've never seen him before right, maybe he doesn't have a daylight ring and he saw you thought you were pretty and did that mental projection thing to talk to you or something. I mean for all we know he could be starving somewhere like Damon Salvatore when he tricked your mom into letting him out of the cellar in 09?" I say and she smiles

"Oh my god your right maybe I'm not crazy," she says and hugs me before running out of my apartment and I am left alone to decide if I should call Dr. Salvatore or not.
