Inoculation

Clarity. Sweet clarity. He's finally gone. Purged of my mind. The niggling voice at the back of my mind, constantly vying for my attention like a child showing an inattentive parent their drawing. Clarity. Though I suspect it's only temporary, I drink it in while I can. I haven't had peace of mind since before I was turned. Turned into this perfect human. An Angel. Both a blessing and a curse. The body and powers the blessing. The price I had to pay for it the curse. I haven't been able to do anything I wanted until this moment since all of my movements were guided by him. The Infernal Prick commonly known as God. Who knew an omniscient celestial being such as Him would be like a nagging housewife? Constantly on my back "destroy this building. Do it now" or "burn that orphanage down, it's not like their parents will miss them". Of course I had to do these things, servitude was the price I had to pay even though I didn't ask for any of this. It was forced upon me by an arrogant bastard, who believes that he's doing me a favour by doing the supreme honour of helping him eradicate human life. The only reason he wants to do this is because he's "bored of this batch". I take this moment of peace that he had "granted me" to reflect on the things I had done. I've done atrocious things, yet I don't feel a shred of remorse or guilt. The only thing I regret is getting it over with too quickly and letting people die without knowing suffering or pain or misery. I promise to myself that I'll kill them all slower, so they have time to think, just as I did before I died. As I think I fall into a trance-like state between the world of the soon to be dead and the land of dreams. In this state I find myself reliving one of my atrocities. Buildings burning to the ground in a matter of seconds. Children screaming, running from the flames only to be met by a figure that grabs them all and whisks them to safety, finding themselves in the back of a police car that somehow has enough room for the 20 of them. They have no time to wonder about this though because as soon as they know it the car stops and disappears. The children are stranded in the middle of a dark forest. They hear the rumble of a Diesel engine and see headlights, the children all start running towards the light but as soon as they get to the spot where the vehicle should've been they only found another 20 children of varying ages and sizes. In the distance they hear the howl of a lone wolf and they cry out in fear. The Wolf starts towards the frightened children, mouth watering at the thought of the meal. Lights snap on around the children, illuminating all of them in a blue light. They see a silhouette of a monster. The Monster was the size of a grizzly bear and had the head of a wolf with a liquid dripping from its teeth and ten of the finest tines any stag had ever had. It a sleek feline predator's body that was the purest white, it's tail was a coiled snake eager to strike at the first opportunity. It was beautiful in a way that only the most deadly of predators could be. As the Beast approached the children could tell by some sort of primal instinct that the creature meant ill. They all huddled together as a futile attempt at defending themselves. The beast stalked forward and gently grabbed one of the children by the ruff of her shirt with its teeth. The child who could have been no older than nine years had wet herself with fear. When the beast noticed this it set the child down again with the tenderness of a mother and said in a rumbling voice of velvet "My child, there is nothing to be afraid of. Do you believe in God?" The child nodded and replied with "I do believe in God and I know that He will save me from you" The Beast chuckled with shake of his head and said "My Sweetness, I'm sorry to inform you but He's the one who's caused all of this" The Girl, gaining confidence says "No, you're Lucifer, the Prince of Lies. God would never forsake us like this" again the Beast Chuckles, more heartily this time "big words for such a small girl, what's your name my child?" The Girl trembles with rage at his words "It's Athena" she says through gritted teeth "Ah, the Greek goddess of war and wisdom. You know, I could use the help of a brave soul such as yourself in my mission, what do you say?" The Beast asks kindly "I will never help the spawn of Satan" she says with a vitriol that a little girl should not possess but the Beast only laughs and says "I've already told you darling, God himself sent me, though I doubt that this form is helping my case so let's find one more comfortable shall we?" The Creature bends double and writhes in pain, slowly shrinking and changing into a more human form. When the transformation is complete he turns to Athena and asks "how about now? We can give you power that you could only dream of" Athena looks at the beautiful man and is mesmerised by his eyes, falling deep into his golden pits of sight, she feels her guard drop and realises that she can trust this man to look after her. "I'll come with you, only if you tell me your name" Athena says. The man smiles and says "of course my child, my name is Akephalos, The Bornless one, a Day Without The Dawn, a Ray Void of the Sun. I am The Redeemer and The Blasphemer" Athena just stares at him and asks "isn't pride a sin?" Akephalos throws his head back and laughs mightily "Indeed it is Athena" he says through tears of mirth "I think I'm going to like you" Akephalos says genuinely, He clicks his fingers making Athena disappear, the children who remained silent throughout this entire exchange start to stand up still trembling in fear. One of the braver ones stepped forward and asked "can we go now sir?" Akephalos snapped his golden eyes to the young boy with a malicious glint In them "of course you can't, I only had room for one, terribly sorry" Akephalos said, obviously not sorry. Akephalos leapt towards the boys, shifting into the Beast mid-air and tearing the boy's throat out, spurting blood onto the other children. That's when the screaming began. It was a bloodbath, the mutilated bodies of many innocent children were on the floor of an unknown forest, soon to be eaten by the scavengers of the forest. Akephalos was glad he wouldn't have to go to that place again, the stench of that many decomposing bodies would be unimaginable.

I came out of my trance, interrupted by a tap on my shoulder, it was Athena "why have you got such a big smile on your face? She asks "I had a good dream is all" I reply "Dream? But you were sitting up and had your eyes open" she says "I sleep differently to you Athena and you will sleep the same way soon" Isn't that right Big Guy? I kick myself internally for asking him and bringing the peace to an end "I suppose I have no choice, do I?" His Divine Divinity Himself says. Of course you don't, "Then let me have her for a while to improve her attributes" As long as you don't change that impressive mind of hers "do you not trust me?" The Divine Bastard asks with a huff, Why should I? I ask rhetorically.
