Trevor POV:
My own life had just taken the trophy for being my own personal nightmare. First my family was too prideful and too power hungry to allow me to move my little cousin to a safer pack and now my little play thing is my Beta's mate.I exhaled loudly while I'm waiting for them to stop sucking their faces off to intervene.
Fun fact about me, I'm not fond of sharing. And I especially don't like it when a girl chooses another guy over me, but I had to push down those feelings. If I let my feelings get the best of me Tohopka would use my own feelings against me, he's done it before. To make things worse I actually was quite fond of my Beta, Brandon. Brandon was on the quieter side while I was on the more talkative side, he was super smart and had a nerdy look going for him. We were complete opposites but somehow we worked well together. He was someone I worked with who I actually considered a close friend, and I couldn't do that to him. Hell, part of me feels sick to my stomach that I actually slept with his mate. He deserves to be happy, and I can't take that away from him.
That is why he can never find out about what I did. I'm going to have to take this secret to my grave.
The finally separated from each other, coming up from air and now they were just staring at each other. It was now or never so I made my move to seperate them.
I walked over, cleared my throat, and put my hand on his shoulder. This startled him but made him break his gaze away from Maison to look at me.
"Hey man, this is great and all but we have a meeting to get to." I said trying to use my most monotone voice possible. I saw Maisons face out of the corner of my eye and I saw a glint of worry appear in her eyes. No doubt that she was feeling horrible as well. Brandon looked over at his mate and squeezed her hands in his before he murmured, "I'll find you after."
Maison nodded and then she made eye contact with me again. I gave her a small nod in acknowledgement with a smile on my face, "You choose a good one, he's a hell of a lot better than I am. Congrats Maison, I'm happy for you."
"Thanks Alpha Trevor." She whispered before I turned around and started walking towards the house with Brandon right behind me. Luckily Brandon didn't say much about Maison, I think he was mainly in a state of shock.
I couldn't let my thoughts linger on that matter though, I needed to focus on this meeting.
While we were walking towards Ambers pack house both of my warrior chiefs Grace and Eric caught up with us. When we approached the room where the meeting was being held at Adam what standing right outside the door so while I was entering the room I patted him on the shoulder making him growl angrily. I couldn't help but chuckle as I put my hands in my pants pockets and walked into the room. I noticed out of the corner of my eye one of Ambers warriors giving me a hard glare, I think his name was Asher. Awe yes, he was the "friend" of hers. I turned my head to meet his glare and just stared right back at him with no emotion. He ended up breaking my gaze first and I couldn't help but smirk a little. Little punk. Soon everyone took a seat at the long conference table so me and my pack members took a seat as the friendly conversations still continued. I glanced up to see who decided to sit across from me, hoping it was a cute warrior with a nice rack, only to be disappointed to see the little punk sitting across from me. That sour expression was still on his face as he glared at me.
