Amphibian From The Ebon Swamp

In the desolate stretch of land known as the Ebon Swamp, tales of an Amphibian creature surround the swamp. Wanting to investigate this, a three man crew treks into the swamp sailing an airboat. The captain of the crew was Mezo Shoji who was a seasoned sailor. The other two members of the crew were Mina Ashido and Kosei Tsuburaba. As they sailed through the swamp, the thick fog made Mina feel tense.

Mina: This place really gives me the creeps! Do you really think we'll find something out here?

Shoji: I'm not completely sure. But if there's something in these waters, then we'll find it. Kosei? Anything?

Kosei: Nothing Captain. This place is dead. 

Shoji: Keep looking. 

As the airboat continued to sail through the swamp, everyone kept a close eye on the swamp for anything out of the ordinary. Mina then walked over to Kosei. 

Kosei: Hey Mina. What's up? 

Mina: What do you think about this Amphibian?

Kosei: I think it's a long shot. A giant Amphibian creature roaming around the swamp seems like some kind of tall tale. 

Mina: You think all those disappearances are connected?

Kosei: Possibly. Could be just plain bad luck. Maybe a Gator attack perhaps. 

Mina and Kosei looked to the waters for something tout of the ordinary. Suddenly, Mina sees unnatural rippling in the water. 

Mina: Kosei! Something's in the water!

Mina and Kosei then walks over to the edge of the boat and saw the rippling. 

Kosei: What the hell?

As they looked at the ripples, the head of a woman with amphibian features emerged from the water. Without warning, her tongue shoots out of her mouth and wraps itself around Kosei.

Kosei: HEY! GET OFF OF ME!

Mina: Captain! Come quick! 

Shoji was alerted to the commotion. Upon seeing Kosei wrapped in the tongue, he reached for his pistol and rushed to him. Kosei was then pulled into the water screaming in terror. Kosei was then dragged into the water.

Mina: Kosei! No!

Shoji then shot at the water in hopes of hitting the creature. But the shots missed and the water fell silent. 

Mina: What the hell was that thing?!

Shoji: I don't know.....that must be our Amphibian. 

Mina: Poor Kosei.....

Shoji then realized that he and Mina were now prey to the Amphibian. They were in her territory. But Shoji was not about to go calmly into the night. He then handed Mina a Harpoon Gun. 

Shoji: This should even the odds. Stay away from the edges. Keep your eye on the water. If anything moves, shoot it. 

Mina: Do you really think we stand a chance against this thing? 

Shoji: I don't know. But we have no other choice. This thing is hunting us. The only thing we can do is kill it before it kills us. 

Mina was unsure about this, but she knew that there was no other choice. The Ebon Swamp was the Amphibian's hunting ground. Shoji and Mina were prey. As the airboat sailed through the swamp, the Amphibian stalked them from beneath the murky waters. She waited patiently for the time to strike. 

Shoji: Anything Mina?

Mina: Nothing Captain! I can't see a thing!

Shoji: Keep your guard up! Don't let it get close! 

Mina kept her eyes on the water. Fear and anxiety gripped her as she was hunted by the Amphibian. Seeing what happened to Kosei was still fresh on her mind. Her hands began shaking. 

Shoji: Where are you, you son of a bitch? I know you're out there! 

Mina: Where is it?! I...I can't see it!

Shoji: Calm yourself Mina! The only way it can get us if it gets on the boat! That's when we strike! We'll survive this!

Despite Shoji's reassurance, Mina's fears kept growing and growing. Not seeing the Amphibian terrified her more than anything. Meanwhile, the Amphibian slowly crept onto the ship. Mina soon heard footsteps. She turned around and saw the Amphibian standing before her. The Amphibian had the appearance of a young woman, but held several frog like features. 

Mina: SHOJI! 

Shoji then began shooting at the Amphibian lunged at Mina. Shoji then began shooting at the Amphibian, but it dodges the shots and lunges at Shoji. As Mina slowly recovers, she reaches for the Harpoon Gun and shoots at the Amphibian. The Amphibian catches the harpoon and throws it at Mina's leg, impaling it. 

Mina: ARGH!

Shoji: MINA! Over here you son of a bitch!

The Amphibian ignores Shoji and it lunges at Mina and drags her into the water. 

Shoji: MINA NO!

Shoji then arms himself with a combat knife and jumps into the water. Meanwhile, Mina struggles to free herself from the Amphibian's grip, but it unable too. In that moment Mina felt that she would endure the same fate as Kosei.

Mina: (No....please! Not like this! Not like this!) 

Mina slowly begins to black out as the Amphibian continues to drag her down. Suddenly, Shoji dives in and begins stabbing the Amphibian repeatedly. This forces the Amphibian to let go of Mina. As Mina swims to the surface, the Amphibian in a last ditch effort to get Mina attempts to pull Mina down with her tongue, but Shoji cuts off the creature's tongue. 

Shoji: (I got you now!)

As Shoji continues stabbing the creature, the Amphibian turns it's head and bites Shoji in the neck. Despite the pain, Shoji continues stabbing the Amphibian. The water soon becomes red with the blood of both the Amphibian and Shoji. Shoji uses his dying breath to continue stabbing the Amphibian. 

Shoji: (Go Mina....get out of here.....survive...)

Meanwhile, Mina swims back to the boat and pulls herself on. She clutches to her wound and pulls the harpoon out of her leg, causing her great pain. As she wraps bandages on her leg, she looks to the bloodied waters where Shoji and the Amphibian were last seen. 

Mina: Shoji.....

Knowing that Shoji gave his life to kill the Amphibian, Mina sailed the airboat away from Ebon Swamp. Mina was the lone survivor of the Amphibian's rampage.
