Author's Note:

The story that follows is very experimental on my part. I usually love building complex, involved worlds, but the characters and the settings of 'The Building' are intentionally vague and ambiguous. In some ways, they represent all of us, and situations we've all been in. Rather than telling the story of a struggle between a defined protagonist and antagonist, 'The Building' will explore the hypocrisies of the human mind in the 'safe' and removed setting of a fictional world set in some arbitrary future time. I'm not going to say that I hope you enjoy it, because this story will hardly be enjoyable, but I hope it inspires you to think about things a little differently.

I would love to hear your thoughts as I explore this type of storytelling that's very new to me. Thank you!
