Almost thirty minutes passed as Aurora and Ophelia sat in the waiting area. Aurora sat patiently, but Ophelia was clearly bored.
"Uhhh, I thought he said he was gonna be done soon!" Ophelia whined. Aurora shrugged.
"Half an hour isn't that bad," Aurora said. "Besides, this is a doctor, and Gavin clearly has-" Aurora paused as she struggled to find the right thing to say- "Something up. So who are we to judge?" Ophelia stared at Aurora.
"When did you major in philosophy?" Ophelia joked. Aurora snickered.
"It's not that philosophical," Aurora said. "Besides, Gavin is new here, and it's not like we have anything else to do." Ophelia nodded.
"True, but I'm still bored," she said. "I wonder what they're doing in there." As she finished talking, the door swung open. Gavin walked out, followed by Dr. Shor. Gavin was pocketing a bottle of what was probably pills. Dr. Shor glanced at Aurora and Ophelia.
"I'll have Emma bring you the ointment when it's ready," Dr. Shor said. He pulled out a slip of paper with something written on it and handed it to Emma. "Mix this up for Gavin, please?" Emma snickered. They had an on-going joke about Dr. Shor having a bad memory.
"Yeah, I can make this," Emma said. She looked at Gavin. "I should have one or two tubes ready for you tonight. I'll bring them over before ten." Gavin looked confused.
"Do you know which house I'm in?" Gavin asked. Emma nodded and snickered. She jerked her head towards Aurora and Ophelia.
"These two and the rest of their team have come here so often that Dr. Shor and I don't need to ask about that anymore," Emma said. Gavin still looked concerned, and Dr. Shor giggled.
"Don't worry, you'll be fine," Dr. Shor said. "They have boundaries they won't cross." Emma pointed at Ophelia.
"Even her, now," Emma said. Ophelia blushed.
"One time," Ophelia muttered. "I tried that one time." Aurora saw Gavin about to ask something, and raised her hand to stop him in time.
"You'll find out, don't worry," Aurora said with a smile. Gavin smiled back. Aurora stood up, quickly followed by Ophelia. "Well, if you're ready, we can continue the tour." Gavin nodded and pocketed the bottle of pills.
"Sure, I'm ready," he said. "Where to next?"
"The bar," Ophelia said with a snicker. Dr. Shor looked at her with a frown.
"Hey, you're not old enough for alcohol," he said. Ophelia opened her mouth to say something, but Dr. Shor kept talking. "Do you remember the last time you got drunk?" Ophelia's face went scarlet. Emma giggled.
"That--I--It isn't--," Ophelia stuttered. Aurora started giggling, followed pretty quickly by Gavin as Ophelia tried to start a congruent sentence. Finally, she stopped talking, and seemed to gather some amount of composure. "That was an accident!" She finally exclaimed. "Kane said there wasn't any beer in that drink!"
"But there was plenty of tequila!" Aurora giggled out. Gavin started to laugh.
"You drank tequila?" Gavin asked after a few seconds. Ophelia was blushing furiously.
"Hey, Kane was convincing, and I didn't know how much tequila was in there!" Ophelia said. "Plus, it's really powerful!"
"You could smell the alcohol!" Aurora said between laughs.
"Kane said that the smell was cinnamon!" Ophelia said defensively. Gavin stopped his laughter long enough to stand up and ask something.
"Didn't the burning in your throat tip you off?" Gavin asked, before he started giggling again.
