Song: Oh My God - Alec Benjamin

Characters: Vil!Jade, and mention of her family. Her mom, Elayna, is my character, as well as Quinn, Jade's bestie of 10+ years. Y'all already know who Halyn belongs to lol. Her brother, Ben and father, Chrono, belong to a friend.

And yes, I cut out the last few lines on purpose. I felt like it was a bit repetitive in the story, though it puts a good end to the song it self. (Alec is king, change my mind)

Jade sat on the roof of the tallest skyscraper in the city. It was a quiet night, despite the city being rather lively.

The sky was very clear tonight. Not a single cloud could be seen as far as the eye can see. The stars were twinkling ever so slightly up above, accenting the bright moon beautifully. There was a small breeze that passed her by every now and then, softly brushing through her ink black hair as it went.

Hardly anyone every came up to this roof top, so it was a good hang out place for her, just to be alone. She hummed to herself, and she got to thinking. Jade remembered nights like this with her friends, family, classmates. But everything was different now. She knew, deep down, that everyone probably hated her, but she couldn't help but feel lonely.

Loneliness was never a feeling Jade liked. She'd felt quite a bit of it for the past few years, and in the years when she was still 'good'. To go along the years when she was 'good', she also remembered her heartbreak. All the heartbreaks. Whether it be from guys, to her father telling her that he was disappointed in her. It hurt, a lot. But she got used to it.

In all honesty, Jade missed them. Her family.

She couldn't bare the face her mother would make if she were to go back. She has killed many in her years of being a villain, and a few even before that. "Mom... You always did like the night sky." Jade spoke, pulling her gaze from the moon to the ground below.

The people that walked the streets were so small from way up here, like little ants.

Everyone was in danger when she was around, even her family, so, she decided to never go back. Ever. "And dad, you used to love taking mom flying on nights like these..." She spoke again, looking back up at the moon. Tears threatened to fall as the thought of her brother popped in her head. "Heh, and Ben." She croaked, a single tear rolling down her cheek. Jade longed for a response from her beloved younger brother, but there was nothing but silence. "Remember when we used to play outside on nights like this? We'd stay out as late as we could, and catch fireflies for mom.."

A gust of cold air flew past her, taking the tear that had dripped to her chin with it. She got up from her place on the ledge of the building, walking over to the small corner where she had a few pictures from her past, and a few candles spread out neatly.

She had taken the pictures from her dorm before she had ran off, only to disappear for years. She'd only recently started to terrorize the city for the past two years. Jade let out a deep sigh, sitting down in the corner she had walked to.

She picked up a picture, it was of her Halyn, Ben, and Quinn. And another, with just her and her family. They all had big smiles on their faces, and they looked so happy. Jade remembered that day just like it was yesterday.

"Looking at the pictures I keep on my shelf, 'cause it's been so long since i've looked like myself.." She said to herself. She's done that a lot lately, since she has no one else to talk to. "Burn another candle down, burn another candle down." Snapping her fingers near the wick of the candle, there was a spark, then a small flame that danced as the wind gently drifted past.

"Running low on patience, running low on fumes." She stated, setting the picture down. She got up again, pacing to the ledge, and stepped up onto it. Jade reached her hand up high towards the moon, her fingers spread as if she wanted to grab it.

"I'm never gonna make it halfway to the moon," She dropped her hand back to her side, her eyes never leaving it. "But it's too late to turn around, but it's too late to turn around."

With a quick tear of her shirt, her dragon-like wings shot out of her back, pointing straight in the air. And with a huge gust of wind as she threw her wings downwards, she flew of the ledge, going higher, and higher into the night sky.

"I'm running out of oxygen. I'll never be the same again now." Jade continued, letting her wings stop their movement which kept her in the air. "Same again now..." She quietly repeated, as she started to fall from the sky. Her back was facing the earth, so she could still see the moon.

"Oh my God, I can't remember who I was just last December. What have I done? How did I get here, what have I done?! " She shouted, the wind violently rushing past her as she fell. Suddenly, she spread her wings again, and her fall came to a quick halt.

Her wings caught in the wind, acting like a sort of parachute, and she flew back to the skyscraper's roof.

"Oh my God, look in the mirror." She shouted, walking over to the old and broken mirror that had hung there for years. She pulled her messy hair out of her face, getting a good look at herself. "I was young, nothing to fear once." When Jade looked at herself, she couldn't help but notice the change she had gone through. Not only to her mental self, but to her appearance as well. There were dark circles under her eyes, her clothes were torn, and even stained with blood, and dirt. She teared up a bit at the sight of herself. "What have I done? How did I get here, what have I done?..."

She took her hand from her head, letting her bangs fall back down into her face. She turned, her back now facing the broken mirror. "Maybe I was foolish, I guess I was naive."

The wind lightly blew another photo to her feet. She knelt down, and picked it up. It was just her and Ben making silly faces. "I didn't know what I had, and I thought I had to leave." She brushed her finger across the picture, more tears taking form. "I wish that I was homeward bound, I wish that I was homeward bound.."

She pulled her phone out of her pocket. Maybe she could call someone... Another villain..? There wasn't any signal up here. "I'm searching for a signal, holding out my phone." Oh well, she didn't feel like pouring her feelings on anyone right now anyways.

"Have I gone too far, am I on my own? " She whispered, shoving her phone back into her pocket, quickly drying her eyes with her sleeves. The though of her sister, Halyn, came to mind. The memories where she would just talk to her, and make her feel better with hugs flooded her head. She missed that. "No one here to hold me now, no one here to hold me now..."

Looking back up to the sky, the dazzling lights reflecting on her tears. "I'm running out of oxygen. Can't help but wished i'd stayed... I'm lost just like Will Robinson, a rocket man in space.

She softly smiled to herself, the memories still coming and going. They always made her feel better, but sometimes they just made her feel worse. Like, the time her and Ben fought, and didn't talk for a while.. "Oh my God, I can't remember who I was just last December. What have I done, how did I get here? What have I done?! " She blurted, feeling angry with herself for taking them all for granted.

Jade strutted her way back to the mirror, ripping it off the wall and looking at herself again. Her eyes and cheeks were puffy from all the water works.

"Oh my God, look in the mirror! I was young, nothing to fear once! What have I done, how did I get here? What have I done?? " She walked back to the ledge of the building, still clutching the mirror.

Once she was hovering over the edge, she tossed the it, letting the already broken pieces fall to the ground below. She watched, a frown on her face, as it fell. It kept on falling, until.. CRASH! A shatter, the mirror now completely destroyed. Jade felt herself calming again.

"Oh my God, I can't remember who I was just last December." She stated, turning back to the corner with the candles and pictures. "Who I was just last December." Jade repeated, feeling her knees go weak, and tear continuing to stream.

"Oh my God..." She mumbled as she fell to the floor, pulling her knees into her chest, and burying her face into them.
