Marjani's POV:
Sharik and I met after the meeting. We went back to his dorm to chat.
"Rik, what are we gonna do? I can hardly even use my own powers," I said, worried.
"I don't know. We have no choice. It's obligatory," he sighed and hugged himself. "How did we end up in this mess? Mom really did us dirty."
"I'm worried as hell," I admitted.
"The only thing that's making me less scared right now is the fact that it'll all be under the supervision of coach Valkyrie. At least I know I won't die," he chuckled a little. "My guts tell me I'll end up being tested by Efra. I swear."
"Don't say that. You don't know yet. Plus, I believe it's the coach that'll chose who'll be tested by who. They might still give you Baran, Roman or even Kylo."
"I want none of them, Marji. They're all powerful as fuck. I don't know what Baran is capable of but I know he's got more gifts up his sleeves, not just being able to clone himself, otherwise he wouldn't have been part of category X and the Sphinixes."
I nodded.
"True. Let's just hope everything ends well."
♤
Wednesday and Thursday passed faster than ever and soon, we were Friday morning.
"I am not okay."
Dove and I grabbed our little traveling bags and headed for the door.
"Don't worry, Jani. Everything is going to be alright," she reassured me.
"Hm! Still not okay."
"Just relax. It'll be fun. You'll see."
I was not convinced. Not even the slightest bit.
We left our dorm with many other master's students like ourselves. We were to assemble in TUPA's big parking lot, where the shuttles were usually parked. There we would board two buses that would take us to Thionne.
-Dove and I reached the parking lot. It was crowded by all the students that were leaving, as well as the ones that had come to wish us good luck and tell us goodbye.
There was a big bus parked. It looked weird but was beautiful.
"Let me guess, Thionnese buses?" I asked Dove.
"Yup."
"I thought Thionnese things didn't work in this world."
"Exactly. We can't drive these buses here. We'll leave for Thionne without having to drive them here. They'll just- what's the word? Teleport? Yeah, something like that. And for that, coach will have to open a portal."
I stared at her in disbelief.
'Oh boy. This is going to be something else.'
