Next week at school, we were all officially very occupied. More homework was assigned to me and grades were beginning to go in grade books. In Math, some assignments weren't too hard for me at that point with Luis being my helper at home. Every morning, he would meet me at my lockers and we would check over it together to see if it was right. According to the teacher, some mistakes were made which caused my anxiety to rise. A little frustration also came but went away quickly.

Wednesday at lunch, I noticed that a group of junior girls were eyeing me up and down. They looked somewhat more jealous or repelled than anything else. The more they looked at me, the more they were making me uncomfortable. But I knew to ignore them because they were only mad because I was Luis' girl. So, I went on talking to the ducks.

"Coach has been in a bad mood lately", said Adam, "I hope he's okay."

"That's weird though", said Connie, "he should be happy still because of our win Friday."

"He's probably dealing with something personal", added Dwayne.

"Yeah, and I don't think we should ask him what's eating him because it's likely he won't tell us. Of course it couldn't be that, though. He might just be looking serious as always", said Ken Wu.

"Anyway, Charlie's still getting a lot of praise for his good shot and giving us the win", said Connie changing the subject.

"He deserves it. He is our captain after all. Of course he would make sure we win. You're acting like him getting attention is something totally new. But, we are proud of him, still", Banks went on.

"Give Luis credit, too", I told them, "he didn't crash his fast ass into those boards to attempt a point for nothing, you know."

"Yeah, we're proud of him, too", assured Connie, "one thing is I never saw how he crashes into walls and stuff and yet somehow ends up without a single injury. His speed going into them has to be too fast for his hockey gear to protect him from. Guy and Averman got checked into boards and they still got hurt."

"He's Luis Mendoza. He's just tough that way", I stated, "but don't get me wrong. He has had some concussions from games, but they heal off."

"I guess you're like his little nurse to take care of him whenever he has a little boo-boo", said Connie with a tiny chuckle.

I face palmed and stifled any laughter when she mentioned the last word, "I wish y'all wouldn't keep treating our relationship so cutesy."

"Hey, chill Kallz. We're just playing around", smiled Adam.

"Yeah, you think that's annoying, just look at how Averman teases me and Guy all the time. I swear I will find a way to shut that mouth of his", Connie chuckled again.

"Whatevs", I said before the bell to head back to class rang.

By the end of the day, I was leaning on my car to wait on Luis for our usual meet-up. But, he didn't come. Just then, my phone buzzed and I got a text message which was from him.

L: "Had to head over to the arena. Coach wanted us extra early today. Love you. See you in a while."

"I responded with "okay, love you too" and slid my phone back in my pocket. I was just about to get in my car and drive off when a voice called out.

"Hey!"

I turned and looked to see some of the girls from lunch today coming towards me. They were all dressed in either short shorts or mini skirts with blouses, jewelry, heels/clean white converses, and a face of make-up. I could easily tell they were all whores, so I knew what to expect.
