Lyra POV

I walk out of the room with my newly found sister in mind. I can't believe that I found my long lost sister. The note I got from her so long ago about my little sister and how she was a werewolf.

For several years I went around looking for someone that knew my mother's new husband and daughter. All over America, her father was always one step ahead in hiding her with our mother's help. Once I had heard about a teenager around the same age as her I had to see for myself. I walked into that room and waited to see her and when she came in I instantly knew it was her from the aura around her.

I get to the airport still wondering about Amara. She may not know where she came from and who her mother is, but the power that radiates from her is a given. Amara is going to be a powerful wolf, and she deserves to be happy after the rumors of how the Alpha found her.

I get back to my home town New Orleans and see my father waiting for me on the airstrip. I run towards my favorite person in the world and hug him. I stand on my tiptoes to wrap my arms around his 6' frame. His dark black hair rubs up against my face as I hug him.

"Lyra how was your trip?" my father asks.

"It was good, I have some important news to share with you, but I think it should wait till we get back to the house," I explain.

" Let's go, " we head towards the back of the airport to the all-black car sitting waiting for us.

As we get closer to the car Franklin comes to open the door for my father and me.

I hug Franklin before I get in the car. He was like a second parent when I was growing up since my mother was not around. Around here we are known for our magic. We are related to the first witch, which means we are more powerful than an average witch.

We get to our two-story house that is a Victorian-style house. The door opens and I see Roman, my ten-year-old brother, with black hair and blue eyes looking like a mini-me of my dad. Roman is my step-brother, my father met another woman after my mother left and they had Roman and we're going to have another child before she was killed by a vampire. Roman has powers like my father and me, he just doesn't know how to control them exactly.

"Hey Roman, how are you?" as I hug the ten-year-old.

"Good, Franklin and I went to a parade and dressed up as a skeleton," he says jumping around.

"That good Roman, Guess what," I say as we walk into the house.

"What!"

"I got to meet a werewolf while I was gone, " I say. Roman has an obsession with all mythical creatures.

"Wait really! Was it big and scary? Did it have big teeth?" he paces around the room, he opens one of his journals to write what I just said down.

My father walks into the living room. "Lyra, what was it you needed to tell me."

"Well as you know I went to a wolf pack. I met someone interesting while I was there in the pack. I met a girl named Amara and she is my mother's, other daughter." I look up and see my father is stunned, I add quickly, " Amara is really nice and has had a very hard life and my mother put a spell on her so she is not a werewolf, but she found a mate that is a wolf. Her wolf is also trying to come out now that she is gaining strength and it is putting her into harm. I need to go through mothers' stuff and find the spell."

"Lyra I don't know what to say. So your sister's name is Amara, that is nice. " he pulls me into a hug.

"Lyra you can go through your mother's stuff and help your half-sister, I just want to warn you this spell will be very hard to do without someone's help. Lyra I will help you with helping your sister, all I ask is you don't forget about your brother and myself."

"I won't forget about you, father and I would never forget about Roman, dad you and Roman have been here through the ups and downs I won't forget where I came from."

I hug my father again. I would never leave my father and brother for a very long time, they are my whole life. Amara is also family and I will help her any way I can.

I walk into our library and stare at all the books that are on the walls, hundreds of years of books and they cover the walls in this room. I have no clue where to start as all of the grimoires are mixed into all the other books.

I have spent six hours in this room, looking for a book that may not even have what I possess in it. We probably don't even have it with how our mother is, she probably hid the book. Wait I can't think like that, it will not help me in the search to help Amara. I need to help, me in this room is not going to help at the moment I need a break.

I find Roman in the kitchen having a snack. I lift the plate with a flick of my finger and grab the plate.

"Hey! That was mine, " Roman grumbles.

"If it's yours then take it back from me with some magic, " I say taking a bite of a carrot.

"You know I can't control my magic, " he says and a cup goes flying across the room.

"You need to learn to control it and not get mad and have something like that happen." I point to the broken cup on the ground with my carrot.

"I'm working on it, now give me back my snack, " he holds out his hand and the plate flies into his hand and he falls over by the force that is used.

"Ro-Roman that was great!" I laugh as he picks up his carrots and apple slices off the ground.

After that great break of making fun of my brother, I am ready to head back into the library. Over the next two days, I look through all the books, I finally found a book that belonged to my mother.

I open the book and see a concealing spell. This must be what she used with a couple of tweaks. I need to see if there are any notes in here about it. As I look through the older book I see what I need but a corner of the page is missing with the last part of the spell. I can still do the spell I just need to translate the spell then add the last part and translate the spell back to Latin.

"Dad! I found the book" I yell through the house.

He walks out of his study "Lyra that is great, now you need to collect everything for the spell and then we can leave."

"We have a slight problem though we only have part of the spell. I need to do some reconstruction of the spell also." I say showing him the page.

"I will take care of that, you need to get the ingredients, it won't take me very long to do." I hand him the book and head towards the door.

The next week I collect the ingredients and my father has translated the spell so we can now head back to Oregon and my sister. We are headed to the airport now.
