Enemy's Hour

        After dinner we walked up to my room and I flopped down on my bed. Then I felt a huge weight on me and I laughed as I struggled to turn around. I turned my head sideways and Leo smiled widely at me and kissed my cheek. He reached up and locked our fingers together, although mine were upside down, and he tucked my arms in, as if I were hugging myself, our hands still intertwined. 

       "You stink. I think you need a shower," he whispered playfully. He nipped at my ear and I wriggled in protest, trying to move out from under him. 

        "Oh yeah? Look who's talking. You need one too," I replied. 

        "There's a simple solution. We shower together and conserve water. Easy peasy," he whispered huskily. He finally loosened his hold and I turned around to wrap my hands around his neck and pull him down, eliminating the inches that kept our lips apart. 

        He picked me up and carried me to the bathroom before setting me on the counter and pulling off my shirt. I wrapped my legs around his waist and he leaned into them more while his hands were on either side of my hips.

        I woke up and I had a sudden feeling that today was going to be great. From underneath Leo's heavy arm, I rolled over and faced him. His mouth was barely open and I could hear his soft, deep breathing. 

        I reached my hand up and pushed his soft damp hair out of his face and he stirred a little but didn't wake up. I brought my hand down from his hair and started tracing his facial features, his eyes, his lips, his mouth, then his jawline and the contours of his torso, letting my fingers glide through the dips and valleys of his muscles. I rested my forehead against his chest and his arm tightened around me, pulling my naked body even closer. 

        I was lost in my thoughts, wondering how I had become so lucky to meet Leo and be with him. I didn't have to spend my nights alone anymore and I could wake up full of joy and know that he's mine and always will be. 

       Suddenly, I shot up in bed, Leo doing the same when he felt the abrupt movement. I smelled something familiar but wholly unwelcome. I stood up, slipped on Leo's huge t-shirt, and hurried down the stairs as the sharp sweet scent assaulted my nose. Leo quickly followed me down, his dark jeans hanging dangerously low on his hips. I reached the bottom of the stairs and immediately froze as I saw the rest of my family already in the living room. 

         Nick and Tori were front and center, bristling with tension and hatred at the unexpected visitor standing in front of them with her long coppery hair hanging down from her shoulders. The intruder was a well known and highly unwanted face around here, especially after what happened when she pushed Tori over the edge. 

        The woman in our living room, boldly facing off with the seven angry lycans was Nick's vampiric sister, Zoey. She looked over and smirked at me as I walked over to join the hostile welcoming party. 

       "Oooh. More fresh meat. You're pretty hot, if I do say so myself," she said to Leo in that annoying British lilt of hers. I took a step forward and a deep growled came from my throat as I felt a burning in my chest. 

        "Oh? Looks like Gemmi finally got herself a boyfriend. Didn't you like playing with me though," she asked tauntingly. No one said anything and the tension was thick in the air. I hated the demon spawn in front of me, she was evil and selfish and deceiving. 

        "No? That's okay. You were kind of boring anyways, but I bet he taught you how to rock those hips, eh?" 

         Without thinking, I lunged forward and reached for her throat but she was gone in a blur. I hated her with a burning passion that would never die down or simmer out. She was the reason Nick was ruined for so long. She was the reason I used to lay in bed at night thinking I'd never be good enough for anyone because I let her get under my skin. She destroyed everything in her path and I never had and never will like her.
