A butterfly fluttering its wings
lays down on a flower to rest
pulls its wings together while standing there
readying itself to consume the energy needed
for a new day
A human is in need of energy too
but unlike a butterfly we need it for happiness
as many things bring us down
make us feel like a dark hole
sucking all the negatives all the bad
making us feel dull and useless
how long we await for the light
for yet we long await for that day
that is called a new day
