Chapter 7

Rain started pelting down on us the moment we stepped onto the vehicle and all I could do was watch them attack the windows. I was playing with the necklace that Gabriel gave me. Just thinking about him brings a smile to my face. He and Jaiden was sleeping against each other. Gabriel's hair was sexily messy and his mouth was slightly open.

"Are we reaching?" I groaned.

"In all due respect princess, for the last time, no." One of the guards spoke. He had removed his helmet and was scratching his head, tossing his soft chestnut hair. His eyes was black as charcoal and he had a firm jaw. He had a babyish look to him because of his cheeks. He was cute but not as compared to Gabriel.

"I'm Matthew, at your service" He smiled stretching his hand out towards me. I took it and returned with one of my own. "Isabella"

"Oh, I know who you are." He laughed.

I blushed. That was stupid of me.

"Call me Matt for short."

There was a black little box in his hand and he was holding it tightly. "What's that?" I asked pointing at it. He tensed and shrugged, "I don't know, we retrieved this after killing a pack of Lucifers living near our sector." He bend down and slide the box under his seat.

"Matt? Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah sure, princess"

"Why do some Lucifers look different while some looked like scaly lizards?"

He chuckled. "They are shape shifters. They become what they want."

I nodded. That made sense.

The carriage jerked to the side as we missed a huge rock in our way. I fell to the side and landed on Matthew. His hands were steady and stopped me from falling. I blushed fiercely at the contact but he held me tight as we passed the curb.

"Are you okay Isabella?"

I nodded my head, shakily pulling myself out of his hold.

I turned my head to check on Gabriel and Jadien. They were perfectly fine, but Gabriel's blue eyes were already fixed on me.

Filled with an emotion I can't read.

~

'There was a lady in white staring at the lake from a distance. Her blond hair was blowing violently against the wind. She was glowing like an angel and her movements was graceful like a swan. As she approached me, I gasped. She held my mother's face. She reached out to touch my face and I stretched to feel her again, but her hand vaporized the moment she touched my skin. She redrew her hand and her eyes were sad.

Mom?

I whispered. She smiled at me and said,

My beautiful Bella, I love you so much and you have made me proud by staying strong. But I fear that fate will led you to something out of your control. Don't put the blame on yourself, you can't take it.

My heart pounded against my chest but I didn't care. Was this real? I felt tears pouring down my face as I reached out to touch her, wanting to feel her close to me again.

She shook her head and started,

My dear, this is only a vision. This maybe the last time we meet.

I bit down hard on my lip until I could taste blood. No, she can't leave. Not now when I need her most.

I asked her.

Why did you go?

Her eyes flashed bright golden.

Isabella, you know that I never wanted to leave you. But for the sake of my people, I was willingly to sacrifice my life, no matter the cost. When you grow up you will understand, the price a royal is willingly to pay for their people.

I look down and found myself shaking. Then I felt it. It was as if the world was spinning and its trying to throw out something that didn't belong. I reached to grasp her but she stopped me.

Isabella, I can't stay any longer. Stay strong my baby and remember,

Ad lunam ad te amo'

"Mom!" I screamed as I woke. Gabriel was staring straight at me, his eyes wide with worry. His eyebrows creased when he realized that I was not harmed in any way.

"Isabella, are you okay? What happened?"

My voice shook and I was shaking. "It's okay. It was just a d-dream." I stuttered.

He wrapped his arms around me and I felt myself leaning my head against his chest. Breathing in his smell and feeling his steady heartbeat. I closed my eyes and felt hands playing with my hair. "Go to sleep Isabella."

I nodded my head slowly and placed my hands on his chest. Feeling his heartbeat in my palm.

Just above his heart.
