As we left Orion's chambers, I somehow felt a little sad. He had been here so long, and all that time, he hadn't even known what happened to his home country. I watched my feet as we walked. I felt like I couldn't tell him the truth, I was worried that it would hurt him too much. There was a lot that had changed since ancient Rome, and I wasn't sure if Orion would be able to take it.

"How old are you?" I wondered. If Orion was about two thousand years old, then how old did that make Nakiirn? I guessed he'd be really old as well. But I wasn't sure if finding out would make a difference about how I felt about Nakiirn.

"Five hundred and thirty two," Nakiirn answered without hesitation. Then he paused, and his pace slowed as he looked over to me. "You're worried. Does my age bother you?" He asked.

"No," I said, not slowing down with him, "I was just a bit worried about Orion. He seemed..." I trailed off. I wasn't sure if I could pinpoint how he felt, but it made me worry a bit. Deciding not to dwell on it though, I asked him something else.

"So... I heard Taisei talking to the king. Are you going with him tonight?"

"I am. But there is no need to worry, I won't be gone long." He assured me as he caught up with me then. That meant I was going to be alone? Even though there were enough dragons around for me to not feel alone, I somehow knew I would if he left. I stopped walking and looking at Nakiirn's hair as he passed me, I couldn't help the sudden worry that went crazy through my mind.

Nakiirn seemed to notice my sudden change in emotion and turned to face me. He came over to me and without a chance to protest, I was lifted up into his arms, the sudden kiss taking me off guard. It was soft but deep, and heat spread through me. That only seemed to fuel Nakiirn's passion more, and my gasp didn't help as his tongue slowly pulled along mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck, not wanting to let go. He pulled away from the kiss a moment later and looked at me with a small smile on his face.

"Do not worry yourself, my Khu'meir. I promise to come back to you. Would that make you feel better?" He said softly as he ran his fingers across my face. His hand brushed through my hair lightly. Nakiirn's rich blue eyes never strayed from mine as he watched me in anticipation for my answer.

"No! I don't even want you to go." I pouted and hugged him tighter. I would have asked to go with him, but I knew his answer would be 'no'. And I knew that because Eita was still out there. Eita... That night... I... No! My hands shot up as I grabbed at my hair and hid my face in Nakiirn's chest. No! I wanted it gone! Why did it keep coming back? And why now? I fought to keep from screaming, as I tried my best to hide in Nakiirn's warmth.

His draconic filled the space between us and his grip around me was tighter than before. The magic that poured into me was much more than ever before. It had to be because of our bond. The mark on my thigh grew warm as well. Slowly, Nakiirn moved forward until my back was against the wall. He slid one hand from around me and put it against my chest.

A familiar heaviness came over me. The seal, I thought. Nakiirn strengthened it and I could certainly feel it that time. It wasn't uncomfortable, but I was far more conscious of it this time than when he'd put the seal on me. It took some time for the magic to work it's wonders over me; before the fears were finally settled.

"It will be alright," Nakiirn said, his draconic long gone, but the lingering sensations of it remained. "I promise I'll return to you as quickly as possible. And Dakoya will be with you while I am gone. Whenever you need him."

I hugged Nakiirn as tight as I could, I wanted to remember that feeling because I was going to have to let go at some point. Not that I wanted to though. As I pulled away, Nakiirn set me down gently.
