Emeline probably would've went home with Bella even if Edward hadn't asked her to, just based on how weird he'd been acting. Sometimes she needed human time. She'd prefer it to be with Jessica of course, since she was much closer with her, and she could actually talk about things, but Bella was a close third. Angela being the second option, of course.

Currently Emeline was sitting in Bella's kitchen, homework and notes scattered across the table haphazardly.

Bella sighed, pushing aside the paper she was working on before turning her attention to Emeline. "Are you hungry?" She asked. "Because I can't look at one more number." Before getting a response Bella got up and started pulling out sandwich materials from one of the yellow cabinets.

Emeline finally finished the essay she'd been working on, putting the paper in her bag. "I'm starving." She said, rubbing her stomach. "I feel like I could eat a bear."

Bella chuckled, and when she was finished with them she brought the sandwiches over to the table, one for each girl. "I've never heard anyone say they could eat a bear. Usually it's a horse."

Emeline dug into her sandwich quickly, but covered her mouth as she responded to Bella. "Emmett must be rubbing off on me." She laughed at the inside joke.

"Emmett's one of Edward's brothers, right?" Bella asked, feigning casualness, but her entire attention was on Emeline.

It made the taller girl feel kind of awkward, as she was just being stared at as she ate. "Uh, yeah?" Emeline didn't know why it was such a big deal. Sure Edward like weirdly glared at her once, but from Bella's perspective the Cullens shouldn't really be that interesting. Emeline wouldn't have found them that interesting at least.

"Cool." Bella said, tearing her gaze away from Emeline, making her feel safe to eat again. "So what's their family like?"

"Why do you care?" Emeline asked bluntly, before realizing that probably sounded suspicious. "They're pretty cool though I guess. I'm a little biased though." A little biased was putting it lightly.

"How long have you been dating Jasper for? Jessica told me it wasn't long but-"

Emeline cut Bella off. "It's been almost two months, but we were friends for a little while before that." Saying it out loud made Emeline realize how little time her and Jasper had actually been together, which made her feel a little pathetic. Emeline was pretty head over heels for just dating for two months. She guessed that finding out about the whole reincarnation and vampire things made it feel longer, but still. It felt a lot longer than two months.

"That's nice." Bella said, obviously having things that she still wanted to ask. She was just sitting there awkwardly, biting her lip as she tried not to make eye contact with Emeline, or seem to eager.
