"Nanami, (L/n)! Please... Wake up! I need to know that you're both ok!" You could feel a adamant shake to your shoulder as you stirred, your eyes open just barely, vision blurred. Chiaki got up before you, gasping as she saw the redheaded teacher kneeling before you both.

"Thank god...!"

"Miss Yukizome! What are you doing here?" Chiaki asked, looking at you and back to the teacher.

"After you ran, that long haired boy let me go... I don't think he's our enemy..."

"Huh!?"

"But anyways what are you both doing here, alone again too!"

"We weren't alone, the whole class came back so we could save you!" Chiaki shook you lightly, and you slowly pulled yourself up.

"Tsumiki pushed us... And-"

You looked up at Miss Yukizome still dazed with a worried look as she nodded.

"We need to find the others right away." She stood up and held her hands out to the both of you. "They can't save themselves, but we can!" She gave a determined stare to the both of you as you saw Chiaki nod and take her hand. You followed suit. Chiaki and her smiled, and you wanted to smile too. You'd found your teacher. So why were you still uneasy when you should be ecstatic? You could leave soon now, you could see Nagito again- You hugged her nonetheless, because no matter how your gut felt, you also really wanted to hug your teacher, and knowing at least that she was safe now was amazing in itself.

Walking felt like it took even longer than before without the class with you. And your redheaded teacher was a lot quieter than usual. "Not to sound doubtful but..." You trailed off and Chiaki finished for you with the same concern in mind. "Miss Yukizome, you're absolutely sure this is the way?" Chisa answered as smoothly as ever with a strange confidence that she didn't have earlier. "Would you both prefer to go back?" Chiaki denied the statement, challenging her words instead. "No, I'm our classroom's representative after all, everyone's waiting on me..."

"That's what I thought you'd say Chiaki. Shall we then?" She looked back at you both for an affirmation and Chiaki nodded, you kept staring at the floor.

You were quiet again, as you had been for most of this day.

"Something wrong, (L/n)?" Chisa asked, peering at you with one eye as she looked at the door right in front of you both. You wanted to be honest, this was the woman you confided in time and time again after all... But why did this all seem so sinister...? You moved your head up, but you were still looking down. You parted your lips to speak, and yet you couldn't utter a sound. You took a deep breath, but felt lightheaded even still and speaking again was strange as well. '

'Something about this feels so sinister'

That's what you wanted to say. But Chisa's eyes... You couldn't say it somehow, despite it being the right option. Despite your own intuition screaming at you to tell the truth.

"I'm ready, let's all leave together. Right?"

You almost couldn't breath, you were so scared and yet-

Not a single stutter. Not as much as a waver. It wasn't even what you wanted to say...

"Where are we?" Chiaki asked. The elevator whirred, and you touched your hand to a wall before being pulled into a deep group hug.

"We've been through a lot together, all of us. Especially you and me Chiaki, side by side soldiering on. And all of us doing our best to keep the classroom unified..." You held a hand to your mouth, you were barely listening as Chiaki quietly looked on. You were holding back the urge to puke. It was still all so frustrating... You didn't even know why you were feeling this way... Why at a time like this couldn't everything feel fine. Why couldn't your body be sure you'd all be safe-

"At first the only common ground everyone had was raw talent... But now thanks to you both they've become a family."

'This feeling...' You thought, 'W-what is it...?'

"You're extraordinary young women... I just wanted you both to know how grateful I am for your hard work!" She continued to praise you both, squeezing a little tighter... It felt so genuine... So why did it also seem like such a red flag...?

"Even when I was transferred, I thought for sure they'd fall apart but no- You both kept it going, even going as far as to bring the loners closer to the group! So thank you both... You've done more for your friends and each other than you'll ever know." Chiaki smiled, and you tried to giggle, lighten up your heart in some way, because somehow nothing felt right. You heard the sudden opening of the elevator door, you were acutely aware of everything around you, including the fabric of your shirt against your teacher's. You wanted to hold Nagito again. Why did it feel like he was now an eternity away? Like... You'd never see him again...?

The answer was sharp and quick, like the movement of your instructor's hands as she grabbed you both by the blazers and threw you to the elevator.

"M-Miss Yukizome...?" Chiaki paled when she looked up at the teacher's harsh face. You couldn't look up though, to see your teacher like this... Whatever was going to happen... There's no way you'd let this be your last memory of her...

"Chiaki was the obvious choice... There were different plans for you though (Y/N)... It's a shame you deviated from the plan just a bit..."

Last memory... You thought again... Why... The last...?

You heard Chisa's last words ring in your head. Junko said something like that... How could you be so stupid and not realize it... And how could you be so weak...? Unable to hurt Mikan nor Miss Yukizome when then appeared to act differently, when your intuition was going off the charts...

The elevator door slammed shut and you could feel it drop to a much lower floor. Finally stopping, You both rested at the bottom, slowly starting to stand up. You felt cold... Laying a hand on Chiaki's shoulder, you gave her a reassuring look. You were glad you came with her, no matter why she was being targeted... You were happy to see her still with you, you wanted her to know you'd never betray her... She smiled back and you held back tears, good tears, but nonetheless, you didn't want her to think you were scared even if you were.

A sudden cheerful voice rang through the cold space and you both looked ahead.

"Now you may ask yourself, 'Why would my favorite teacher do this to me?'"

There was a brief second of silence as you both looked out towards the opening elevator doors.

"Well it's not as complicated as you may think."

"What is this...?" You, for the first time in a bit, spoke of your own full volition in disturbed curiosity, looking at the monitor on the far wall. Junko Enoshima-

"I made her watch a video! Still working the title, but for now we call it the video of despair!"

Chiaki leaned forward and you kept her stable as she responded, "I don't know what you're talking about..." She immediately started walking towards the monitor, it being the only light source available at the moment.

"Oh c'mon! Don't tell me you haven't heard! Uh, OK look..."

You both horrifically listened as Junko explained having used Mitarai to brainwash your teacher. Your eyes widened and you looked through at Junko in disgust. "H-how could you do that!?" Chiaki asked.

"We're still grinding through the prototype phase, but the final product is right around the corner! Just needs a little more- well the technical term is an innovative despair... Tough to find! But I heard of you and a light bulb came on! Ding!~"

Junko seemed to look at you for a second and grunted. "Damn girl! I didn't expect you to stick so close to the gamergirl. Didn't you almost have a rivalry? Sticking around that reserve course kid so often?" Chiaki gasped, looking at you for a second before looking back at Junko. You piped up, still sad over missing Nagito for so long and the sudden wave of emotions. "Stop messing around. I love Nagito..." You trailed off before thinking, then you looked back up to the monitor with a sudden wave of fear, "Junko... What are you gonna do with them-? Where are they!?"

Junko giggled, "Well actually!~ You were supposed to become their leader! Ya know, the Ultimate sweetheart gone bad turned reckless criminal in the name of despair!" She went through the words in one breath. "Even so... Oh yes...! You're both just what my video has been missing! You're both gonna raise it to the level of art! And if one of you survives in the arms of the other all the more better it could be that you "

Sudden flashes of bright light hit you both, and you winced, shrinking back for a second. You could see cameras now, all pointed at the both or you...

Junko was wearing a cape now, and she was looking at another screen that had your friends all in a room at the other side.

"Hyakhyakhyakhyakhyak!~ Every good show needs a heart stomping first act dudn't it?" She yelled and you nervously grabbed Nanami's hand.

"It's punishment time!!~"
