Ms. Matchmaker

Chapter 3

    People run to me as soon as I enter. In two minutes first period would start.

    Frantically I stuffed gifts to my friends. And some to people who forgot to get something for their dates.

   After finishing the bell rang and everyone headed towards class. I spotted Ethan round the corner and I caught up to him.

    "Ethan!" He flipped around and his lips formed a smirk. Then he started walking at a faster pace away from me. I chased after him and grabbed his wrist, and pulled him into the janitor's room.

"What the fuck?" Was his reaction. He reached for the handle but I blocked it.

    "Do you like Ayers?" I asked him.

"That's personal information. None of your buisne-"

     "Shut the fuck up! Just give me an answer!"

  His cheeks turned red and he looked away. He started whistling too.

   I laughed like maniac. "Okay then. I guess that's a yes. I think she might like you back too."

    His eyes shot into mine like bullets. "Really?!"

"Mhm." I responded. "Why don't you ask her out? What are you so afraid of? She's not gonna bite. Besides what could you lose?"

    "My reputation! Duh!" He rolled his eyes at me. "I can't get shut down by a girl. What if I make a fool of myself? Besides I don't think she likes me." He looked down at his Nikies.

"C'mon! You can do it! Just make sure its somewhere private and be serious. Give her these." I dug in my box and found a bouquet of red roses, a beautiful infinity necklace, and a matching bracelet.

   "Okay. Its worth a try. Right?"

"Absolutely!" I answered pushing the items into his arms.

   My first classes were a blur. I couldn't wait for lunch. Had Ethan asked Ayers? Hopefully he did.

   When third period was over I ran to the cafeteria. Where I found Ayers and Ethan sitting next to each other. They were flirting! I saw the necklace around her neck and the bracelet on her wrist. Then Ethan leaned in and pecked Ayers on the lips.

  YES! IT WORKED!
